Slightly pre-mature update but oh well :)

A couple of weeks back my new head unit arrived, I searched and searched until I could find one I REALLY wanted; I wanted it to be very subtle, few/no buttons, 7" screen, decent user interface...etc etc....anyway to cut a long story short I found this at a really great price (new) and the delivery was free and turned up next day!

Sorry about the poor picture, just grabbed it and after much faffing around with flash direction this is the best I could do in such a short space of time; should have got one in daylight tbh :/

Fitted myself, took no longer than an hour by the time i'd sorted the mess of wiring out from the previous owner's head unit install! Really pleased, looks so standard, even the surround is spot on and matches the dash colour! Can highly recommend this unit and it's supplier so inbox me if you want more info :)

Also, finally got around to getting this done:

Getting painted and laquered this sunday, then flat and polished next saturday hopefully; I have a horrible feeling this boot work will spur me on to getting the whole car sprayed :/ DAMN OCD!

Cheers for looking guys

going buy a polo on monday with a smooted boot lid..it really tidys the rear up nicely..looks well lad

Love the car mate. Best colour IMO, and the wheels are bang on.

Could you shoot me a PM with some of the features and the supplier of the headunit when you've got time? :)

Really decent colour, I like it! :)

Did you fix your airbag?

I didn't know the resistance, that's why I never replied. If you go into Vag-com, it tells you if the bag is okay or not, and it updates straight away, so I kept just adding resistors until it said it was okay, and never checked the resistance.

Car looks awesome dude! :)

Cheers folks; nah still got the airbag light on but it doesn't bug me enough to do anything about it tbh; may sort it at MOT but hoping to get a friendly one done!

Pretty sure the airbag resistor should be 1.8 or 3.3 Ohms... What degree camber are your rears? Got it stanced real nice!

Cheers i'll get one of each ordered up! Must be pence online I guess?

No idea bud; used washers (much to the dismay of many i'm sure!) 2+1 :)

Right I know I put the car up for sale the other day on here; but that is no re-dundant! What I need from people here is link's to people who've 20vt'd their 6n/6n2's :)

This WILL happen and i'm currently on the hunt for a donor :) Preferably and AGU but an AUM will suffice if the price is right either way

I've made a few friends who appear to have a decent amount of knowledge about this conversion; i'm just after some late night reading to absorb as much info as possible before I undertake the swap (in the mean time once a donor is sorted i'll get all I need from it and get it into storage as they seem to be coming harder to come by judging by the quick hunt around i've had)

So come on people; link me up!

Sorry if I get your hope up about the engine ;) no links from me... Just wondering about the washers! Is it the forward bolt or the rear one you put the 2 washers on?

I think it's 2 on the front (as you look at it) and 1 on the rear...may be the other way around thought it was so long since I did it! Search the forums and find out for definite though; (prepare for hate if you post a thread asking ;) )

Well, forgot to update, the boots been finished for a while now and i've booked back in with the same guy to do the whole drivers side (rear quater, door, and wing) as theres ALOT of fade/laquer peel from what we think was a shoddy repair job from the previous owner...here's a couple of pics of progress :) Should get her back tomorrow, then getting it notched next Saturday so I can have some show-lows for early edition :)

Also treated myself to a fresh set of bosch/aero wipers as the ones I had were knackered; new indicators (as I replaced the headlights a while back and figured while the cars being fiddled with I go up and swap these over too)

Can't wait for Early Editiong :D

Next on the to do list (aside from the notch) is get the front end (bonnet, bumper, and other wing) resprayed - this should get the car looking back to new!

Wouldn't mind getting the rear's re-furbed at some point...and i'm on the look out for a set of colour concept fronts (I want mint ones but don't want to pay the price they fetch :/ )

Not had a huge amount done really, got the whole front end resprayed as mentioned above and in the process has the small recess in the bumper strip smoothed (but kept the strip as I'm not a huge fan of losing the bumper strip on these)

Also got a new set of wheels...a set of grid-v's (same as i what i had before) came up for sale and the long and the short of it was I swapped my staggered white set for a set of 8j et0 all around..and they're pretty mint to be honest!

Here's a pic of how it's sitting at the moment (lowered a bit more...but need to drop the back another 15mm or so then i'l be happy - should make the rear camber look a bit less wierd from this angle hopefully

Got the rear down so got a few more snaps, here's how she looks and will probably stay now until the front tyres give up...then i'll probs go for 165/50s up front (to match the back) and a bit more front lows :)
