Hi guys sorry this is weird but my Lupo is my first official car that I have driven with a license, I've driven a mk3 1.0 and a 6n 1.0 both seemed very very slow to my 1.0 Lupo. Basically just wanted to see if this was about right, I was driving home today from work as you do and a open road came ahead so I thought many people on here record so let's see what my bad boy 1.0 can do, I couldn't stop as it was a road but I slowed to roughly 20mph and floored it, I could only get to 60 as a car was in front and wasn't gonna be a dick so slowed down way before, anyway my 1.0 seemed to do 20mph to around 60mph in around 8 seconds is this right? 0-60 times are about 16/17 seconds obviously I know that's not rolling like I was, anyway if mods think this is pointless feel free to delete but just wanted a discussion really. Ps the car also had a full tank and my top box and tools

My mates Lupo GTi does 0-60 in Low 8's so I extremely doubt you've done it in 5/6 seconds unless you've had a conversion that you don't know about...

Simple reason it feels quicker. Is because it is. Its more powerful than the MK3, and multi point injection, rather than single point. And its lighter than the 6n, which has the same engine :-)

'Check Engine' light is on. Somethings broken.

It's nearly as heavy as a 3dr 1.3 Ford Sierra and a MK2 Golf. It's a lard-arse of a car with a lawnmower engine in it - in fact, my 3.5hp lawnmower has a higher power:weight ratio. And so does the 0.8i Matiz. Even the base model pensioner spec Fiat Seicento has a bigger and more powerful engine, and is much quicker.

It's obviously dog slow then, but more so - modern cars don't really get slower, taking longer to do 0-62 than any other manual 3dr car on sale in the country in 2006 according to What Car.

It was just beaten, by a whisker, by four slower cars though - the afore mentioned Chevrolet Matiz, Perodua Kelisa 5dr 1.0 automatic, Skoda Fabia 1.2, and base level Smart car.
