Dragon Green 8valver

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm Neil I haven't really posted on very much.

I bought a Dragon Green 6n about a year and a half ago as my first car with only 62,000 miles on the clock, now on 73,000. Wasn't the nicest looking 6n when I bought it but I was just happy to have my first car!

just needed a good clean inside and out.

Next I removed the bump strips and bought some 6n2 rears along with clear indicators and side repeaters.

I then found a 16v rear bumper at the scrappies, painted that and put it on.

It stayed like that for a year or so then I decided to spray a few parts (Grille, splitter, center console and door handles) and remove some swirls.

Then I found this at the scrappies for £18...

About two weeks ago I finally got myself some coilovers!

Needs a notch so I can go lower but this is how it is for now...

That's about it so far really, I'll update any progress that's made.

Thanks man, it's only an 8v though... I wish it was a 16v!

The driveshaft hits most of the time when I turn left and on slight bumps. I want to go lower too so it will need a notch...

Thanks man, there's a few bits of paint still need to be fixed but it's getting there.

Yeah, need spacers still though. ET20 sounds good, depends what width they are though.

Little update...

I tinted the headlights, indicators and side repeaters with lamin-x subtle tint.

Also my mate came round so we gave it a wash, corrected paint with meguiars ultimate compound, polished it with Autoglym super resin polish and waxed with R222 Carnauba wax.

Very nice mate, got these wheels also, seeing this makes me want to put them back on (no tyres though :retard: ) prefer the orange indies tbh

looks really good! suits the borbet! maybe a bit more poke in the back?

Love that last pic mate, was never really keen on them wheels but you have pulled them off well.

Thanks man! Nice, you might be better waiting till after winter to put them on now anyways?

Thanks dude! Yeah, defo need some spacers but can't decide which size to go for.

Thanks man! Was taken with a lens for my iPhone! Yeah I wasn't too sure about them but once I got them on it made me love them.

Id say at least 25mm, that's what I was running and the poke was subtle, each to their though

I like this a lot mate!

Those wheels look great!

...but they have no dish. How is this possible? Haha :)

Tint works well too.

Please excuse me, I just had a nice wee moment remembering my old 6n.

Thanks for all the nice reply's!

Anyway,

I've not updated for a while so here's a Small update:

Recently I've been working on this...

EE691BB3-BFD1-4AF4-8579-E76711E2FE53-168

FF2CF582-D574-46EA-980E-71D1A2AF8AB3-168

I've managed to make a centre console that holds an ipad mini, the majority of the work is done, I just need to make a bracket to hold the heater controls and give it the finishing touches. For the time being the sound comes through the head-unit but I will eventually run it through an amp.

I also tried on some of my mates 30mm spacers.

40DD608C-F6FA-4F83-A8AE-E664935E3368-168

9308DC60-D563-4D89-A39E-B4EB59E33E61-168

(Yes the front is raised, I just didn't fancy ripping my bumper off in the snow)

I think 20 or 25mm would be about right. Once the arches are rolled and it has more camber plus lower, it should sit pretty nicely!

Neil.

Cool little mod :) easy to get in and out? And any rubbing issues with the 30mm spacers?

Woah the ipad connection is cool man

30mm spacers do look good

Cheers man, yeah it takes seconds to remove/put in :p

I've not tried to drive with them on yet, I was only testing them, but I reckon they will rub quite a bit. I think I'm gonna run something smaller though and run camber too!
