I just have a problem with the starting engine, the engine can't start randomly..

when the ignition on, the engine start doesn't work, (totally quiet)

and VAG COM with no fault codes.

I've replaced the starter/key ignition switch /fuse box/ No.53 relay/

does anyone can advise where the problem is?

or someone who have the 6N wiring diagram??

Hi, Here's the diagrams for the Autobox with the starter inhibit relay J207 on diagram (53) but you will see there is an additional switch E17 for RHD cars thats mounted near the selector lever. So it might be this additional switch or the switch pack on the autobox itself this is listed on the parts list @ 52€uros !!

I think the J217 (automatic gearbox control unit ,centre in plemun chamber)

and the J382 (1AV control unit(injection system),right in the plenum chamber)

they are the same parts??

I found it today.. ( they are neighbors..) :-D

I think it's the problem from the connector , caused I can start the engine randomly..

I'll try to find out the root cause.. :-)

I can't see it being the connector for the gearbox control unit, I'd be looking at the switch unit on the gearbox "F 125" item # 10 in the picture, as it supplies the Earth for the starter inhibit relay.

Deffinatly look at the switches buddy, as when the car isn't in park it will not even try to turn over, where as if It was a connection problem it would surely try turn over even it was just a split second ?

I would check them an if faulty then get them off and try cleaning the contacts etc. also you could try bridging the connection, if the switch is at fault it should start up straight away.
