You can get them out. There shouldn't be much tension on them no, so you can try 'drifting' them out with a hammer and drift

You overtightened them. There only sposed to be around 10NM or something like 6NM +90 degrees

You could try a chisel to put a slot in the top and use a screwdriver but thats too difficult tbh

Id drill a small hole in the middle not too deep, then see if you can turn it with a screwdriver or something.

If not go to your local toolstation and grab some easy outs

Easy out , will look , I thought the Haynes said 65 nm ?

Nah thats wrong mate, u were reading the guide from max? He tput 65 by accident its supposed to be 6! I almost did the same until i realised.

Eric+drill+head= :crybaby:

Oops, i really need to change that

Can you not just whip the bearing cap off, and get a pair of mole grips around them?

That's how i get them out when i skim heads.....

Yeah if you get the stud out with some mole grips (try locking two nuts together or grinding some flats on the stud if it slips) you can just fit another.

failing that, I have a complete 1300 head in the garage if you need it. not GT, but with the cam will give the same horsepower.

I'm going to have a later , will keep you informed , in worse case scenario , how much for aav head ?

You wont need a new head!

Just take the cap off, and grip the studs with a mole grip. Unwind them out, replace with new studs, or second hand ones.

funny that the studs have broke though, usually the cap breaks if your not doing it square etc
