Right i work in the north so have all my insurance details, car register there ect. however if my car is insured at the other address but i say it is parked at the first over night I'm i still covered or will i have to register my car/ driving documents at the second place? there is 750pounds difference in the quotes.

I'd imagine it should be insured where it usually is? Or most frequently is?

I asked this when i got my last renewal. My grirlfriend lives in a bad postcode of Leeds and i often stay there and asked the insurer if it was to be damaged / pinched etc would it still be covered at her house. The response was along the line of as long as the majority of the time is spent at my address then thats fine, but the reason they ask is to stop somewhere from a bad postcode claiming to live in a good postcode to get really cheap insurance.

So as for your situation i'd say as long as the car spends the majority of its overnight stays at the cheaper postcode it should be insured to the cheaper postcode and the other one would technically be classed as a place of work wouldn't it ? Thats my opinion anyway but you know what insurance companies are like so the best way is to explain the situation to them and see what they say.

The insurer needs to be aware of the situation, eg if you park in one postcode over night 5 days of the week and another 2 days of the week, that is what you tell your insurance company.

It's £750 more expensive at one address for a reason!

If you have a claim from one address, you may have to provide evidence that you live there.

In a nutshell, when it comes to insurance, you tell the truth, if you don't it is likely it'll come around and bite you.
