With a few random numbers chucked in I called my insurers a few months ago for a quote on a 1992 1 litre Polo Genesis coupe, they said I would get a £20 refund. When it came to buying a different 1992 1 litre Genesis coupe it suddenly became £0 either way.

Insurance prices are not dictated by 'how fast' a car is or it's engine size.

Was it a GT or a GT Coupe?

If it's just a GT, then it's a bready, so cheaper to insure anyway.

Often works out cheaper to insure a focus RS than an ST, or insuring a car on the road instead of driveway
