Been on the road a few days now (no pics yet, soz.) I'm having some issues with the oil buzzer going off after a motorway journey. Oil pressure seems a tad low (on the gauge) but the low pressure buzzer isn't going off, only when the engine is doing around 2000rpm. :? I'm thinking it's a faulty gauge sender or a bad earth (the high pressure switch and the gauge sender are all in one) but I'm going to change the oil incase it's some overly fancy stuff that's the wrong visc.

Seems to go nicely, the drop in revs from 4th to 5th is a bit 'catastrophic' though. I don't think the cam is helping as the power band seems to be above 3000rpm. Once you get to that though it really goes (for what it is).

I've fitted a few optional extras and mods that may divide opinion. Pics will follow someday...

Ha! I wanted one the whole width of the car, like a honda nsx. Fortunately for everybody I don't think they are easy to get. This one has 56 LEDs in it but on the back of the pack it said they did ones up to 80 LEDs but even then itd be a mere 2 feet wide.

Made it to work today without it blowing up. Last night I changed the oil & filter and cleaned the Gauge sender/1.8 bar switch unit on the head. No buzzing today but gauge still reads on the low side. I can only guess it's the gauge, the 0.3bar switch is working. It flashed for a bit while I cranked it over with new oil 'til the pressure built up again.

glad its on the road bud, :-)

Holy update batman!

I've got sick of the old exhaust either falling off or banging on the underside of the car so today I fitted a 4-branch and a new exhaust (in the snow!)

Before pics:

It took so damn long to get the old exhaust off (one of the downpipe nuts just kept spinning on the stud) It was dark and raining by the time I'd finished. So no after pics 'til tomorrow!

Is it a custom exhaust? 'loon ones are so hard to get hold of

The one pictured was something of a home made affair. It needed an extra hanger in the boot floor and to have it looking like it's fitted right (like in the picture) meant it would foul on everything under the car (rear axle, gear linkage) It had to go!

I bought a new old stock vw backbox for a mk3 saloon late last year and a pattern middle box from ECP. I was going to fit it before putting the car on the road late last year but the downpipe I was going to use ended up going to my brother when his disintegrated and I didn't have any more spare. Got the 4-branch for it last week as it was local and cheap!. It being mated to a stock system doesn't seem right though. I might end up paying longlife a visit. That's what I did on my other saloon. Also the exhaust will be on the restrictive side as it's not A GT system. You can get a GT saloon backbox, such a thing exists on etka but it's a rare beast!

Having tornado pink issues. But today I gave 'pinky' a half assed wash and fitted some summer wheels.

I am thinking of selling the wheels if anyone's interested...
