Jack's Surf Blau 6n2

Featured Replies

So bought my first car 6-7 months back just before passing my test, decided on a polo as cheap on insurance and look pretty good! She was on 72,000 miles and payed just under £1700 as it was in pretty good nick!

few photos from when i bought it

Left it standard for a few months as wasn't quite sure on which wheels or what route i wanted to take, but after playing around on photo-shop i decided on bbs rims! Picked them up for a fair price of a bloke in Cheltenham and they had just had a full respray, unfortunately no center caps though!

Thought it was about time for a few stickers and some new bbs center caps to finish the wheels off! have to say they look ten times better with them!

After a few weeks of saving some money i decided it was time i got some lows so purchased some JOM coilovers, for the price they are amazing! have no complaints!

So spent the next few weeks just cleaning and polishing after college and getting her looking good. After doing some maintenance on the wheels (had a nasty incident of curb rash) i realised my two tires were nearly illegal, it was also festival season and the lows only enabled me to carry two people as it rubbed like hell on the rear! After looking into stretched tires i really liked the look so bought some 165/50/15 nankang tires and stretched them myself. Really liked the look and this allowed me to carry more passengers int the back! However i didn't realize how much less rubber i would have and had this huge arch gap! so had to slam her down abit more, unfortunately this means its a bit lower at the back then the front so yes it does look pretty weird! However this is only temporary and i will soon be purchasing some 185/50/15s to go on the rear and will then move these to the front, which should give it a better 'stance'

Went round my mates for a few beers, and they decided it would be funny to do some modelling on my car! however woke up the next morning to find out some C++t had crashed into my rear arch and dented it pretty bad!pushed the majority of it out but its still pretty noticeable so when i have some spare cash it will be repaired!

Did abit of OEM shopping and bought a gti grill as i really like the look of them, wont be long till i get the lower grills and fogs and a splitter if anyone has one for sale??

also decided to give my lights a slight tint to go along with the black and blue theme

IMG_1033_zpsa2c35b86.jpg

However i have seen a few polos now driving round with black rims so think its time for something fresh! After a few words with a mate I'm considering to respray the wheels in a hot pink with the lips being polished, or even a neon glow yellow, Also booked the car in at the repair shop so will finally be getting rid of that horrible dent! also ordered my new tires so the stance will be sorted out very soon! still looking for a gti splitter so if anyone has one drop us a message, Stuck on what colour to respray my wheels any opinions??

Update! DEcided to give the polo a bit of a clean today and also took of the bbs's and sprayed my steels (only temporary) Has anyone ever polished lips on alloys before? just after a few tips as I'm looking to polish the lips and then spray the middles a hot pink or black with a blue flake!

BBS looking a bit worn!

IMGP9905.jpg

IMGP9908.jpg

jacked the car up and propped it up so it wasn't going anywhere, then bolted my bbs on and started the car up

update 19/10/2012

so finally finnished the lips on my bbs! amazed at how well they came out! glad i gave it a try after getting quoted £20 a wheel! dropped them off with a powdercoater tonight so will hopefully have them back monday! have to wait to see what colour i went with! Also ordered my splitter from vw today! £64,95 so should be hear by tuesday! anyone give me any help on how to fit it on? is it literally just a job of taking the other one off and bolting this on or will i have to drill new holes?

Bought some tint film from china! cost like £3 but came out pretty good! just make sure you use a hairdryer it makes stretching and pulling the film alot easier

wheels are all finished! getting tyres on tomorrow! vw phoned to say the splitter had arrived! reckon it will go with the car well! anyone give me any pointers on removing the other one? had trouble trying to pop the clips out??

also on the way home, turned into a side road doing about 15 and came to a dead stop as my subframe hit a raised drain cover! shook me up abit as i didnt no what the F*** had happened! anyway think its wrecked it pretty good as its took out a whole chunk of metal from under the wishbone bushing! will upload pictures tomorrow! will it be an mot failure? if so how hard is it to fit a new subframe?

that center cap looks too small

They the 14's or 15's? as they look a little small. Got some rz centres for mine see mate but they don't seem to fit very snuggly. Any chance you could forward me a part number?

They look a little small but they look cool I think.
