Never did a build thread on this but I have a few pics that I took during it's refit so I'll stick em up in here...

Model: 1983 Polo C

Engine: 1.6 GT conversion. 8P box. Stock G40 exhaust with decat.

Suspension: JOM lowering kit(70mm) GT rear axle, poly rear axle bushes/top rubbers and TCA front mounts

Brakes: Front 256mm vented discs, Goodrich braided hoses, brake servo conversion.

Wheels and Tyres: Staggered Porsche 911 Cookie Cutters (6x15 front ET36 and 7x15 rears ET23 with 20mm adapters)

Exterior Styling: Flared wheel arches, Formel E boot spoiler.

Interior Styling: 2003(?) Alfa Romeo 147 heated leather seats with headrests all round, Coupe S headlining, clocks and surround, Polo LX steering wheel, central locking linked to the alarm, electric windows, door builds

Security: Scorpion alarm system

Comments: Empty shell bought to replace my written off Rally yellow Coupe S. Only on 33,000 miles from new(first owner had it 19 years)

As it arrived at mine, engine-less and interior-less

Lots of powder coated stuff

The only bit of welding required due to rust(behind the filler neck)

Engine bay stripped out

Didn't like the cream headlining so fitted a black one from a Coupe

Made up some rear pillar pieces from offcuts

Great work, why the LHD brake servo though?

The plastic 'guard' is a stupidly simple idea that i have never seen before.

The servo is a Mk.3 Polo item mounted on a modified Mk.1 Golf cross linkage. Also has a 20.6mm master cylinder from the same Audi 80 that the 256mm calipers came from. Stops pretty well from silly speeds now :-)

That filler neck cover is genius!! You sir, are a genius I'm copying the shit out of it! The 86C cover, doesn't work quite as well the a ged bar lol!

Love it though man, arches look tidy. I'll come out with the usual comment, could do with being just a touch lower up front haha

Can't go lower at the front without going onto coilovers. The steering arm hits the brake servo conversion as it is(never did on the yellow peril at a 40mm drop). With coilovers, the steering arms are repositioned lower thus avoiding the contact. I have some Jamex raceline front struts but the dampers are knackered and they're sealed in so would need someone like Leda or GAZ to replace them for me.

Back is on it's highest setting so I need to change the springs to raise it(the rear arches catch occasionally when the car is loaded up)

Nicely done! Noticed the lack of a back carpet? If you haven't got one in your stash, just raid mine if you anyone's in our unit when you're about.

I have what I believe to be 40mm drop Weitec springs to go on the back so hopefully it'll raise it just enough

That just means your still young and you like a good bit of rake, or atleast notice the "reverse rake"

Engine coming out soon, something major wrong with it. Not driven it since late October since the arrival of the 9N3 TDi Sport as it's burning a bit of oil

1.3 GT on the cards as you mentioned?

To be honest, I'm not bothered what goes under the bonnet at the mo. If I can get it mobile without it smoking it's tits off when accelerating hard then I can sell it. I have a GT block/head in good fettle in the unit so it's an option. Lost interest in it now. I'm so fickle when it comes to cars nowadays since the incident earlier in the year
