Hey guys, thought it was about time I got a bit of a build thread up now I've done a few things to the new polo.

Finally decided to get ride of the first car that was kindly donated by the nanna. Thing was a sorry state when i got it...

Soon turned that around n made it look a little better, most people could tell it was the same car.

But anyways, onto the new one.. managed to pick myself up a neat 2001 1.0E in Reflex Silver. Wanted a blue one but its pretty hard finding a decent 1.0 3 door blue one! I'm pretty sure nothings gonna be in the order I did it but it should be thereabouts. Any comments or suggestions are more than welcome! Here she is...

Managed to buy a pretty cheap set of new coilovers off a guy buying an already lowered polo a couple days before I got the car so of course I had to slamm it the day I picked it up! Well that was a pain in the arse.

2 of the 3 bolts holding the strut to the shell of the car managed to snap off the top of the coilovers so they just span. Managed to get a spanner to one and had to take the angle grinder to the other!

Then once I had it off the bolt compressing the spring would not come undo for life of me. Had to slightly modify the spanner... Would have been lost without the angle grinder! Having no spring compressors made that job a hell of a lot harder. Good job i had a shit load of cable ties...

The wheel trims were not a pretty site on it so they got changed next... For another set of wheel trims. Managed to pick up a set of 15" Golf trims from the scrappy.

Time for a bit of sound next so grabbed a cheap exhaust of ebay. Its not really loud just sounds decent which I'm gladd. Had to weld a small bracket onto the side which was cut off the old exhaust.

Had a little free time and a few left over bits and bobs so got to work with the sticker bomb and tinted my lights with window tint. Very quick and messy job just wanted to see what that would look like.

Plus a few other little bits like hazard switch and handbrake button just cause the metal coating was flaking off.

I'm sure allot of you guys were down edition this year. Couldn't leave there empty handed... so i bought a sticker. Boy was that mistake, didnt look nice and came off a couple days later.

Couldn't stand those black rub strips so I purchased my self some paint the other day and got to work.

Thought it would be a little easier to mask the car than trying to pull the side ones off.. Good old sun to mask it

Good old basic E model doesn't even come with central locking, even my 1993 fiesta had that. So we had to sort that out.

Bought a basic kit of the internet pretty cheap. Went with the one cause the keys look snazzy and pretty OEM.

The majority of it was really easy to fit, just took some tire rooting all the wires round. If anyones thinking of doing this just message me and ill be more than happy to help. But yeah this is the kit that I bought...

This offered a remote boot release switch which quite appealed to me as should hopefully be smoothing to boot lid soon. Thats if the fitter isnt going to crack with the crazy amount of vibrations the subs give.

I mounted the box for the central locking kit under the passenger side of the dash. Mainly cause this is where the gap in the firewall was! Only just today hooked the indicators up to the central locking because I could never figure out where to wire it up too... turns out the easiest place straight to the hazard switch.

Bought a boot popper.. Basically just another slave door solenoid. Like £3. DO NOT WHAT EVER YOU DO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-boot-tr...#ht_2032wt_1031

Did that with the fezz and it couldn't pull 100g let alone the 4-5kg it claims to pull... Had to press the button about 30 times and get people to rag up and down on my boot lid before it would open. Plus there like 5 times the price.

My second boot popper as i blew the first one up with the wrong relay :(

As the boot doesn't actually 'pop' its self I had to make a temporary spring until i find something more permanent. Believe it or not actually works.

Well managed to break nearly all the cables in the door for the central locking. And i wondered why it had stopped working! Extended them and tucked them in a little better and hopefully it wont happen again.

[/size]Thanks guys, don't worry sticker bomb should be going soon enough. Gti grill and then smooth the back and then it can go. About the height I'm not too sure, I'd guess it's gone down about 120mm. The JOM coilovers are tuv approved to 110 I belive and my are at the bottom.

Looking for a couple new subs soon though cause these are blown up :( still kicks out more bass than my mates twin 15" setup with about 3000W! Blown up 4 subs now, that alpine amp is deadly. 

These are the amps... This is in the fez. They were under a false floor so

I thought I'd get them on show this time as they look pretty and glow blue, kinda. 

Don't no how I managed to fit this thing in here... Well I had to throw myself at the box to get in wedged in there. It was custom built for the fez so I thought I'd give it ago in the polo, and it fit!! Just wedged 2 blocks of black painted wood under neath to keep it at the right angle.

Don't have a clue how the speaker are originally as it had some Jbl ones in but mounted the vibes on the outside of the doors and got the tweeters in the usual place... Had to get the angle grinder out again for the tweeters cause the stanley knife took too long to make the hole big enough for the tweeters! 

These things with there German engineering are built pretty well anyways so there wasn't too much rattle... But still had to sound proof the whole thing. Instead of paying about £150 for Dynamat found a massive sheet of sound proofing in the garage. That was enough for both doors and the boot lid. 

Nice work! Looks wicked man, kinda like it on the hubcaps aswell...

Had one of these it was epic untill i blew it up can only imagine what its like running 2

Well... Gotta say quite allot has happened in the last couple days! No messing about for me. Managed to find a compete front bumper off a Gti! It only had all the parts I've been looking for. Stocked!

Turns out both of my lights are petty broke on all the brackets, half of them have been siliconed back togeather so a new set of lights is gonna be in order! 

Only gone and got myself some new hoops...

Really like how it sits on the 16's so might have to look for a set of them. Fills the arches beaut. 

Tinted the fogs yellow, nice 2 layers of tint as 1 wasn't all the yellow! 1 light done, but with just 1 layer...

Been looking for one of these for a while... Turned out the guy with the bumper had the whole car still so thought I'd check if he still had it! Said he'd had quite allot of interest in it. 

MATE sits well on those wheels, shame they aren't yours ey aha

MASSIVE UPDATE

Thought it was about time I got an update up seeing as its been a while, and quite allot has happened.

First up I bought myself a nice little fin on ebay for about £4.. Not gonna lie it doesnt work at all!... Sprayed it up and connected it up anyway cause the radio rarely gets used.

Next of the little changes i made were some little 10mm wheel spacers. Bolts were too short so ordered some more.. turns out they were wayyy to long and went right into the hub!

A BIG one.. Smoothed my front bumper! Still need to do the boot and rear bumper though! Not the most professional way of doing it but it works without spending hundreds!

Ran out of things to do for abit and got a bit bored so i thought id do a few other little bits. Borrowed a mop from a friend and purchased myself some nice polish and cutting compound and went to work!

Wasnt a fan of the lip on the end of my exhaust so hacked it off and polished the tip again.. Looked muchhh better :)

Managed to loose one of my wheel trims and the car looked super trampy! Decided it was time i bought a set of wheels for myself... Not 100% on the colour so itll possible change for the summer! but here they are....

Cracked the sharpie out and pen'd the porsche logo...

After burning some lovely brown marks onto my fog lights i thought it was time to re-tint them yellow. Especially as my HID kit came this morning!

looking good mate but looks better with the normal non smoothed front bumper, good job on it but just not sure, think you have to clean the complete car to pull it off lol
