B5 AUDI A4 1.9TDI - 110BHP *cash/px/swaps

Featured Replies

Not gonna go into a big sob story, i get pretty bored with cars so testing the waters with the old girl.

The basics:-

‘R’ reg, 1997, Samt blue, 171k (will rise as its my daily), MOT May ‘13, taxed till end of Oct ‘12.

ABS, central locking, PAS, electric sunshine roof and front electric windows.

This is the 110bhp ‘red I’, AFN engine code, cambelt was done at 165k, EGR delete.

Pulls nice and cleanly and as it should with no excess smoke or noise and starts on the money.

Averages around 45-55mpg depending on driving conditions.

Apex RDX coilovers which adjust fine, these are a monotube type so adjust height from the bottom and have separate spring preload adjustment so it rides nicely at full drop…unfortunately full drop wasn’t low enough for me so I’ve loosened off all the preload and cut the bumpstops to get it sitting as it is, consequently the ride isn’t as nice as it could be but we all know coils at full drop will never be like a Rolls Royce but if you aren't a tool and can sacrifice not running close to the ground like a hovercraft it could easily have the spring preload put back so it rides a lot nicer.

Front turrets have been notched for the upper control arm clearance if you enjoy dickhead lows

Merc CLS alloys…17x8.5 allround with staggered offsets front 28 and rear 18 with 205/45/17 Nankang NS2 xl's which were brand new the day before E38 weekend so have barely done any mileage, New AMG centre caps.

Sony CD player and 10 disc in the boot.

Bodywork/paint is fair condition, couple of tiny rust patches, the odd scratch here and there and looks to have been painted in a few places but she polishes up quite nicely.

Had a going over with a machine polisher when I bought it and made it a lot fresher but could really do with another pass with some decent compound rather than the rubbish I had to hand.

Front arches have been rolled and arch liners binned, rear arches have been pulled to accommodate the wheels.

Pretty stock otherwise on the outside other than a spot of debadging, clear side repeaters and aero style wiper blades.

Interior is stock and in good condition with no rips or tears.

New rear brake pads fitted recently and driver’s side CV and top control arm just after i bought it.

Negative bits:-

Couple of little rust areas and the odd small ding/scratches, paint cracked when I rolled the arches so could prob do with a touch up, rear pass side was the worst so that’s been quickly blown in by me but needs sorting properly really.

Either the rear top mounts or beam bushes need changing as you get a bit of clunk over big bumps…coilovers are fine as it’s always been like this before I lowered it but exaggerated with stiffer suspension.

Towbar!!!

Could do with some fresh plates to jazz it up.

More shots of the start to finish in my build thread and i apologise for the shocking Iphone pics
