Best get about a grand out seen as there was some gearbox oil and shards of metal that we scraped to the side :/

Last month when my gearbox dumped it's load onto Tesco's carpark, I felt guilty and when back into the shop and bought a 10litre bag of kitty litter for £1.60 job sorted

In the early 90s i had a crash and hit the barrier on a trunk road going over a bridge. The barrier saved my life, given the drop otherwise, so when i was hit with a circa £300 bill (think 315) i was happy to pay it.

I didn't wanna claim on the insurance because it was my first car.

The car was repaired free of charge by my uncle, who had built it for me in the first place and taken some of the blame - he knew there was something wrong with it and told me not to drive it. Too much oil in the recon engine had locked a wheel, smashed a con-rod through the block and spun me into said bridge.

There was a lot of oil to clean up, as it'd been filled twice. Plus the damage to the crash barrier - must've been 40ft replaced, three tier high with mesh, dunno how many uprights, all aluminium. Costy.

Now i know a thing or two about inflation, but today's money is less than 300%. The bill in today's money was probably under £900. The Highways Agency, which wasn't around then and has grown like a disease over Labour's years, is clearly taking the piss.

I'll bet my breakfast it's because they're no longer fed like vip's since the socialists were kicked out, and starving with huge bills for their expensive operation they can survive only by raping motorists for all they can blag.

depends on how much oil has spilt and how long it has been there as it can eat into the tarmac, petrol or diesel spills are the worst and it's not uncommon for the road to require resurfacing after a large spill.
