Well, I thought I'd get started with a few details. Decided none of the 3 cars I had actually did everything that I wanted them too. The polo mk3 was too small, but good handling & great fun to drive. The Fabia Vrs was more comfortable, fast, handles well & decent mpg, but the boot is a bit on the small side. The Touran handled great and had decent space - but it's just too big and it's mainly just me in the car.

So I decided to pick something big enough, good spec, ticked all the boxes & upto £10k. Tried a Fabia Vrs estate, not for me (dsg wasn't my thing) - golf, passat inc a couple of cc's. but then I came across the mk5 jetta.

Found one down in Fife - dealer, £6250 - sport tdi 140. So had a look, deal was done. Picked it up on Tuesday - by the afternoon I'd fitted the 18" phaeton rims & the double din, iPod/Bluetooth pioneer.

I know it's 4x4 like at the moment, but I've already got coil overs, GTi 312mm brakes & a few parts from Darkside developments on their way!

I've since refitted the smooth front & relocated the plate. Just deciding on if I want a private plate for it now - something car related & 5 digits??
