Here I am selling my beloved Mk3 GT with 1.6 conversion

This car is very powerful and would make an excellent track-day car, or a winter project as it has a few points that need looking at to make it perfect/faster, though I use it as my daily and it's still great.

The car was originally owned/purchased by Jeff Seddon (twin vr6 mk3 golf) owner of Dubsport and "All Seddon Done" and all the work to the engine was carried out by him.

The car runs very well I have been using it daily for the last 7 months and haven't had any issues other than the inline fuel pump which has now been replaced.

Make: VW

Model: Polo GT

Year/Reg: 1993 (L reg) first registered 11/05/1994

Mileage: around 8500 miles since full engine build

MOT: expires Feb 2013

Tax: expires Feb 2013

No. of Previous Owners: 2 (including myself)

Good points:

Hand-built 1.6 engine (built around 8500 miles ago)

Twin 40 Dellorto carburetors

Stainless pistons

Uprated high lift cam

bigger valves

heavy lifters

direct port nitrous kit

13" brakes on the front (think they are g60 brakes)

new exhaust system (not sure of brand etc. but it sounds incredible)

and much more work, including clutch, though I am not 100% sure exactly what due to it having been built by someone else.

The car wasn't running when i bought it but I spent a bit of money getting it all ready again and have all receipts of services since.

Mk3/2F GT body in original Tornado Red paint

aftermarket front splitter

coilovers all round (rears adjustable)

Sunroof with rare chrome wind deflector & arms

polished/chromed cooling fan cover (though rusting) & other parts chromed

team Heko wind deflectors

original GT badges front and rear

debadged grill (though standard grill & badge will be included FOC)

Standard rear lights & a set of smoked lights will be included too

standard hella front lights

clear indicators and side repeaters

new mirrors with cables & a set of cone shape sport mirrors FOC

front and rear strut braces

boot plinth delocked & carbon wrapped (boot pop in dash)

inner boot cover is chrome

rear wiper removed

single wiper conversion

smoothed bonnet (no vents/water jets) water jet is on wiper blade

15" Borbet C alloys all with original centre caps and in good condition with good tyres - fronts are brand new and rear slightly worn yokohomas

Interior is standard, though i have race seats which i may include if the price is right

Momo millenium steering wheel and momo boss (original wheel included FOC)

New kenwood KFC speakers in the custom speaker pods on the doors

ripspeed single din headunit with fold out screen (included)

Sparco pedals and momo gear knob

Some carbon wrapped and painted interior plastics as well.

Laserline immobiliser & alarm kit fitted (Thatcham Cat 2)

original space saver and jacking kit

clean inside and out

Airplane style flick switches for ignition and lights with 'push to start' button (the key barrel is just a dummy) always confuses your mates when you start the car!

The list goes on

Sale will also include another set of gt clocks, original grill & badges, original steering wheel, original door handles with locks and key, colour coded 'cone' shape mirrors, smoked rear lights, ripspeed DVD player headunit, twin RamAir Carb socks (brand new), and a lot of other parts i can't even remember

Bad points:

Small hole in body at bottom corner of the window, just needs welded

small rust spots in a couple places as expected with age (nothing major)

small interior leak (possibly scuttle-tray)

a couple scratches as expected with age

two very minor dings on the side of the car, i didn't even notice them until about 2 months of owning the car

Laquer peel on boot lid

small airbrushed design on petrol flap, depends on taste (would machine polish off)

I will take some pictures of any bad points and add them to my photobucket account linked below

Location:Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland

Schmidt wheels not included in sale though may accept offers

more pictures (old & new) here: http://photobucket.com/mk3poloGT

i will constantly be uploading pictures but feel free to ask for any pictures of other parts

Price: £1600 ono, will listen to offers or P/X for a polo 9n/WHYG?

this is a car that is getting rarer by the day, with an engine that i have been told could be worth up to £4000 alone

Cobra race seats may be included at the right price

reason for sale is because i recently got points on my lisence and need something more reasonable for insurance purposes, will be very sad to see it go.

Thanks, Michael

How much do you want for them? I could always pick them up and try them, it's not difficult to remove and replace clocks.

I want this car!!! Why don't you live closer to Cornwall!!!! Were at either ends of the country!!
