my mk1 polo

Featured Replies

HI there, i have had my mk1 for about 8months now and here are some pictures of when i first got it and what it looks like now after a few changes i have made. its not nearly done yet but heres my progress i hope you like it, i would be happy to hear positive or constructive criticism as I'm pretty new to all of this :L.

when i brought the car from bournemouth it had done 6.5k miles due to being in storage and it has all the paperwork to back it up, but now as I'm using it as a daily the miles are shooting up :(.

haha thank you, what do you think about the rack, wrong style or do you preffer it without ? thanks

Prefer without roof rack but jeeez <3

That looks awesome! but as above with no rack, my favorite mk1 colour too..

Nice looking MK1 there, just need to sort the grill out or go back to big bumpers

Don't like the rack either, they are only for when you need to carry extra gear, if you need it all the time, get a bigger car!!!! I fecking hate racks!!!!

Looks like a nice little project, just keep on top of the maintance and cleaning so the tinworm doesn't set in :-)

hi mate nice looking car .racks are like marmite, i personally quite like them.next door neighbours got one on his .the stuff on his rack is worth twice as much as the car,lol just do what you like personally . good thing about this forum though is you get honest views not just everyone saying they like everything . cracking first car though and hey at least the rack can be removed and put back on easily .

lovely example!

Was all getting a bit 'scene victim' there for a while, but finally turned into a nicely touched example. Now looking fantastic, all its strengths in tact, with some genuine improvements to bring it to life - a complete package of idealism, for me.

I'm envious!

Love this. Interior looks mint!

omg thats a nice looking old car i want it

Bloody Lovely is what that is !

right so after a lot of 'fart arsing' about she is slowly getting back on track, the awfull bike carbs are off and is now on a weber carb which is running beautifully smooth.

also i have done a few bits to the outside of the car as you can see. she is away this winter and getting a 'full makeover'.. so i am looking forward to the year :D

I've had a lot of abuse for the ATS wheels but personally i like how they look on mk1's, and wether they have been put on alot of cars or not i think they are still one of my favourite wheels out there :)

Properly jealous, that's how I'd have it. My carbs are smooth as EFi, there was something wrong with yours, but it doesn't need them when it's nice and original like that, the sound of the single unit must suit it better.. Wheels yes, 70s plates for me though. 8-)

O think the wheels look ace.
