Tilby's Turn! FOR SALE

Featured Replies

So I've been on the forum quite often recently just looking not commenting and thought its about time I properly introduced myself,

I'm Sam call me Tilby if you like,

I'm from Addlestone in Surrey, near Guildford if f that helps, recently moved from London,

so if anyone know of any local meets that happen, please give me a shout and let me know as I'd love to get more involved with the scene.

I recently bought a 1.4 Polo 6n2 and have loved it ever since.

I have maaaad plans for this car but it will take time as I'm not rich ):

I only have a few pictures but I'll try put them in order from Old to New..

Unfortunately I don't have any of it completely standard how I bought it because I rushed into playing with it!

First thing I did was put some JOM coilovers on and throw it downwards!

Then ordered a GTI honeycombe grille for it

Then threw some d90s on!

So that's it for now, all that's different it I have wind deflectors now on and will upload a picture tomorrow,

also I'll try and stick to my word when I say I'll keep this thread active as I have a lot of plans for my car (:

Hope you enjoy x

yeah thats fair enough, i don't really see them looking like steels myself, but for now i'm more than satisfied with the look of them, but thats for the feedback on what you think mate x

More doors = more whores!! So I hear anyway

Cars looking pretty sweet already! What you got planed?

um outside nothing too major, just a respray,

new splitter new headlights little things like that.

interior i've got a few seats in mind but have yet decided which i'm going to actually get,

but i'll deal with the ones i got for now because believe it or not they're really comfy aha!

some custom dash work hopefully too!

i plan on sticking a gti engine in there aswell but thats for time to come because I'm not rich ):

Sounds good! Golf vr6 (non leather) seats are the way forward!! Got them in mine and they are rediculously comfortable and you don't get the heat that leathers retain, not to mention hen they sag etc!

thats a very good point although i do like the whole leather look, bound to have been done before but i was thinking maybe retrimming my normal 6n2 seats in leather.. y/n?

Entirely your choice but my vote would be no as they don't have the boulsters that hug you (if you know what I mean) the amount you'd pay you would never make your money back if coming to sell. Thought about some Ibiza/Cupra half leathers? Think you need to have your runners put on to fit but its an idea

I've fitted mk3 ibiza cupra half leathers and there is no need to change the runners, they bolt straight in with no mods at all :D

so yesterday morning my car wouldn't start due to a flat battery which is weird because i can't think of a reason it would've died over night, anyway i couldn't fix it then so i went to work and dealty with it today on my day off, charged the battery and it was running again, although my engine now sounds like a diesel and my clocks now say this without the ignition on .. (service miles 0.1)

tumblr_mdsn77Lf8V1qfpszdo1_500.jpg

and with this ignition on it says this.. (service OIL)

tumblr_mdsn5gdrzs1qfpszdo1_500.jpg

so i topped it up with oil and its still saying this?! and cmoe to think of it there was a strong smell of oil when i got in it yesterday morning?

could someone care to explain my problem and how to solve it please? along with the stupidly loud diesel sound from my engine?

surely it's not just in need of a service?

thanks a lot

Edited by Tilby

mate that just a oil service indicator, nothing major!!! to reset it just follow the guide how to remove service indicator, i had to do that not so long ago on my car, as far as i remember

Key in but off

Press and hold clock button on dash 10 seconds

turn key to on positions (do not start car) and wait 10 seconds (still holding button

turn off key and release button

Start car ... indicator should be reset

if something i missed I'm sure guys and girls on here will be able to correct me.
