AFH with injection in mk3. How easy/hard?

Featured Replies

I am thinking about an engine conversion in the MK3 for maybe next year, as i'm fed up with being left behind on cruises with my puny power  I have never even taken an engine out before (not a watercooled 'modern' one anyway), let alone done anything like this! I know that the AFH goes in a MK3, and there are alot of people running bike carbs. Just wondering how easy it is to make one go in. What wiring do i need to change, what gearbox will i need etc. I'd like to run the standard injection, as i'm not interested in fiddling with carbs, and it will be more reliable and better for daily use :-) Also is anyone actually running the injection??

The engines are dead simple to remove and so is the conversion, it's very well documented on here.

It's been done a few times on injection now too. Guy has done a couple so will be worth looking through some of his posts/threads.

The AFHs make good power on injection anyway, so definitely a good way to go about it!
