Thank you was a nice show a lot of nice cars there!

Any way spent the weekend cleaning as usual and though i'd have a go at the engine the main part being the gearbox which had accumulated 14 years worth of shit!

My friend came round as well. He also has a polo. But only until he can afford a golf  So couldn't resist a sneaky photo. Evolution of the polo 1994-2004.

The neighbours probably thought we'd actually bought it!

On another note saw some wheels I really like but need to wait till I've got the money or until a car comes into my dads work part ex with them on!

Probably going to have the roof sprayed next as that's letting the car down. But my 6n2 is getting resprayed first because it's getting embarrassing to drive around in!

Cheers :D Think I'm mainly focusing on tidying up the engine bay at the moment . Getting the engine cover either flocked/sprayed gloss black with the 1.0 logo smoothed off. Also should be getting the grilles and splitter sprayed gloss black soon because they're tatty. And something done to the handle surrounds, god knows what can't take them off i think the paint would come with them

Going to spend the week cleaning like mad because we're taking it down to the autobahn show. Will take more photos in the week

Cheers hopefully it will look better next show season!

Went to the Autobahn motor show which was a good show! Not really had a good look at beetles and campers before because they're not really my thing but actually quite like them now. Was also a good selection of water cooled any way here's some photos of my car

Excuse the misty windows, if you own a 6n/6n2 you'll know it's getting to that time of year again lol.

Wiper delete?

I will do soon, just never get round to it! Birthday tomorrow so should get some prezzies hopefully paint work related because it needs a spruce up.

Love this. Inspiring me to get cracking on my GF's Fjord blue 3dr. Making me question the 6n2 tails and clear indicators & repeaters I fitted though...haha!

Not been up to much recently. Battery's dead and it's sitting on the drive feeling sorry for itself. Cleaned it a few times.

Bought a jbl sub and amp for a bargain price, both brand new. Don't know if they'll even make it into the car because I've already been looking at other stuff to put in. Here's a photo any way. Just to add if any one is looking for budget bass which rivals other more expensive brands JBL is the way to go, judging by all the hours of research I've done.

Could I have the specs of that sub and amp dude and perhaps model of the amp?

Id appreciate it :) cheers

  • Author

Yeah

Sub is:

GT5-10

http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/JBL%20GT5-10%20Data.pdf

Amp is:

GTO752

http://uk.akg.com/tl_files/catalog//jbl/car/Manuals/GT5/GTO752OM.pdf

  • Grand Touring Series 2-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier
  • RMS Power Rating:
    • 4 ohms: 75 watts x 2 chan.
    • 2 ohms: 110 watts x 2 chan.
  • Max power output: 220 watts x 2 chan.
  • LED power and protection indicators
  • Tuned Bass EQ (0-12 dB bass boost)
  • Preamp RCA outputs
  • Cast-aluminum heatsink
  • Variable high-pass filter (32-320 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
  • Variable low-pass filter (32-320 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
  • CEA-2006 compliant amplifier - means the amplifier makes its power
  • Frequency response: 10-100000 Hz
  • Dimensions: 12-1/4"L x 10-3/8"W x 2-1/8"H

I'd probably say go for the 12 inch sub (GT5-12), unless you want a 10 inch sub.. I only got the 10 because i found it for half price.

Picking the harlequin up tomorrow can't wait!!! Will put some photos up of it when I get it.

looks good man, makes me miss my old polo even more :-(

Cheers for the specs of the amp/sub mate, appreciate it

Gave it a quick machine polish, only did the one panel. It came up really well only needed to use the lightest pad and polish because it was painted not long ago.

loving the colour dude, might need to get a machine polish on mine :)

  • Author

Best colour for the 6n and machine polishing makes all the difference and saves hours of hand polishing
