The interior in this will be butchered for the seat foams for the harlequin soon.

So I bought a new interior :D Will be picking it up next Saturday building up suspense.

The interior is the main focus now saving up for some rare OEM goodies to put in. That's if I don't spend all my money on I.C.E :D

Gave it a quick machine polish, only did the one panel. It came up really well only needed to use the lightest pad and polish because it was painted not long ago.

What's the spec of these wheels pal?

  • Author

15x7 ET35 but has 5mm spacers on making the ET30. They rubbed on the subframe/brake calliper before spacers.

Ahh OK, thanks mate, that's what I was worried about, want a set of wheels like these without having to use spacers, so a lower offset

Got a blue and black colour concept interior! It's from a mark 3 golf so need to swap the backs over :D Will be getting it in this week. The drivers side bolster needs the usual repair but got in touch with a retrimmer. They are soo comfy though!

Also got some suede for the headlining and pillars. Also the glue to stick it down. Will do that when the weather's good though.

Hiya, Like the clean look of this.

Just asking on the off chance, are you or anyone reading this selling bumpers front and back? I'm after 16v in same color as yours

  • Author

I'm not selling mine. It'll be hard to find them in this colour don't see many fjord blue 16vs. Could always self prep some and send them off to be sprayed.

Swapped the backs of the seats over and got them in the car will do the rest tomorrow :D dead happy with how they look especially after a clean and leather treatment

Looking forward to seeing how they look once they're all in!:)

They're all in! Always find it awkward to get a photo of an interior, here's one my brother took for me

TBH I didnt really read this properly, as I'm after them in Cagall Blue LD5D, but thanks for the reply anyway haha.

Like you I've gone and put some seats in. Mine are from a Seat Ibiza, i think they look pretty nice & haven't seen any other ones like this around.

I haven't seen those seats before, they usually have a square pattern on them. Matches the colour of the car as well.

Little bit of an update. I've started trimming the pillars and dare I say they've come out really well! Girlfriend had to help me though it's definitely easier with two people. Only got 1 picture.

Car's now officially insured by me and my dad's taken the harlekin :D Soo happy to be in a modified polo finally! Only took 3 years.

Put a spec sheet on first page for people who are wondering what's happened so far. Any questions on any of the things on there pm me or ask on here.

Finished the interior off nearly.

This is where I fed the wire through for the tweeters, no drilling dead easy. May be different on cars with centeral locking and electric windows.

First set of tweeters were my hertz ones, one was broke so had to replace them.

So replaced them with these. Vibe blackair. They are way better than the hertz ones!

I nearly smashed the fucking thing up trying to get it to work in the car!! I checked and double checked everything! It just wouldn't work! Then I looked at the brand new remote cable I'd bought and saw white patches in it. It turned out the copper had turned in to dust.

14254260166_eda9a2b791_b.jpg

Went down to halfords to buy a new roll of cable. With half the interior stripped out and placed in the car. Had to take a quick photo.

14297563573_420d1307a6_b.jpg

Then finally got it in the car. Excuse the pikey wiring but after all the trouble fitting and the fact I lost a bolt down the chassis leg and had to spend 2 hours retrieving it looks were the last thing on my mind. I'll go back and sort it out soon. I also managed to get a screw stuck in my fore arm by leaning on it, not fun!

14297563203_0d65cbd5cd_b.jpg

Also noticed one of my side repeaters were cloudy. So I got some scratch remover and wiped it over.

Before

14090723649_b7bc0fa885_b.jpg

After

14275319962_022034777f_b.jpg

Pictures don't do it justice. It came up so well I did all my lights! Came up really good!

Also my new numberplate placement's sick init!

14090814477_c423b1a7d2_b.jpg

Didn't do it on purpose had to rip my old plate off because the screws were rusty and rounded off. So I wanted to fit my plinths. Ripped it off to find out I had to spare screws/plate tape :fool: Should get some tomorrow but kept the smashed up one in the boot in case I get pulled over.

My plans next are:

*Get drivers seat repaired

*Get tappets done

*Make some sort of false floor trimmed black and blue to match seats.

Gone down a pot hole and curbed my wheel :crybaby: Will have to touch it in until I can afford to get it repaired.

I've been thinking of getting our 6n's paintwork re-done, and looking at this wee beaut is only tempting me more! Lovely, simple and timeless car :)

  • Author

Thank you :D Makes it all worth it getting comments like that. Should get it re-done best thing ever is getting it back after it's been freshly painted. Only problem is you're scared to park it any where in case it gets scratched lol

I can imagine. The amount of dents and scratches that have mysteriously appeared in supermarket carparks over the past 11 months is a little disheartening, I will admit :/ Back on topic though; this thing is lovely - keep on doing what you're doing!

  • Author

I've had quite a few scratches appear from car parks, luckily they've all been really light so have polished out. But it's just annoying how careless people are.

Cheers I will. Next plans are dye the carpet black to match the rest of the interior.

It's been MOT'ed and is good for another year. Flew through again, kind of. Which I was shocked thought lowering it would have messed up the rubber bushes.

One thing it did nearly fail on was light aim which I'm assuming is due to it now being lower.

Got some pictures of it on the ramp. They had a bit of a game getting it on there.

polo_mot2.jpg

Fitted some number plate holders as well and new number plates. Nothing fancy just plain black holders and normal plates breaks up the back and front a bit though.

  • Author

Looks higher on them photos because he jacked the front up to get it on.

Also gained a picachu. My girlfriend bought it and had to put it on the car.

Love the colour of the car!
