I know it's not a VW, but posting this on behalf of someone I know from another forum I'm on.

eyes open in herts and i,ll put it on a couple of club sites I'm on round here

Fucking wankers :-(

I'm always worried with old cars if the bastards are stealing them for weighing in.

Barely worth weighing in a car, may get 100 bob (50 at my local scrappy). I would have thought joy riding or breaking.

Still, Chingford? My money's on Lethal Bizzle :ninja:

Breaking i would say, there thin on the ground these days

hope it shows up unscathed tho

Your local scrappy is ripping you off if that's all he's giving for weighing a full car in, last time I looked it was on the up again, gotta be £150 minimum for some thing of that kinda weight. Still more likely to be some one robbing it for parts than just weighing in (although mk3's ain't exactly rare, sort after or worth a great deal in parts compared to other OSF's). Could always be banger racers, they love old skool Fords

They probably are to be honest Guy. But my local scrappies aren't the type to argue with. And I cannae be arsed to 'shop around' for a better deal. They always come and collect which is a bonus

Do you not get the old bangers parked at the side of the road with "scrap cars wanted, xxx amount paid" painted all over them? These give at least £80 but you can get more if the car weighs a decent amount

Nah, not round my gaff. They'd never stand for that round here! TBF the last 2 I've sent to the yard have been pretty bare

Ah that will effect what they give you for it, a mate got about £50 for a bare mk3 golf shell a bit back
