I'd really love it if I could open my driver's side window but the switch only works when there's a full moon. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that but if anyone else has a spare I could buy I'd be grateful.

I paid £20 from vw for one and there really easy to fit

Before you go replacing a switch for a silly amount between the door and car body is a rubber boot gently peel back the rubber and check for breaks in the wires, most common is the thick brown wire. If broken repair with a small length of wire soldered in and tape up :)
