In April 2011 I received 6 points for driving without due care and attention (CD10) which meant my license was revoked. I then passed in October 2011, and was stopped in August for using a mobile phone, and I got 3 points and a £60 fine on my new license.

Question is; Will my current license be revoked again because of these extra 3 points adding up to 9 points?

speaking from experience, I amassed 7 points in one go on my provisional license, my license wasnt revoked and I was allowed to take my test, but was informed that after passing for my first two years of driving, the 6 point limit would be exceeded if I gained even a single point on my license, it would be cumulative and considered as 7 points, and end up with a revoke.

Yeti's forum is a wise choice for discussion, but you should also consider your driving style and habits in a bit to improve them as to get a CD10 and mobile phone offence doesnt really bode well for a new driver.

you can only get it revoked once for the 6 point rule in the first two years, after you resat your test your licence would show your points you received, so now your on your 12 points and ban, so 9 points is what it is, 9 points your license will not be revoked for that.

You already have 6 points on your new license, and as its not even been 2 years since your last offence it really doesnt look good as these points will most likely be added to those (they will probably go for the you didnt learn the first time approach).

Really dont know why people break the rules, get caught for their stupidity and come on here to bleat about it as if they think they're hard done by! There always seems to be one of these threads. 'I was speeding/ driving dangerously/ on my phone and got caught/ points/ banned, what do i do!?' Whige whinge whinge! Like anyone cares . If you drive safely and dont use a phone you cant get caught. People on phones while driving really annoy me. Its people like you that crash and give young drivers such a bad rep, and why my insurance was so high when i started driving

especially the phone thing. what the fuck, hands free kits arent even expensive..

no need to get all gung-ho on the lad, hes not whining on here. yes its a bad thing, but offer constructive criticism rather than just having a go

I would of thought 6 points would still hold true but your license wouldn't be revoked it would be a ban wouldn't it? All I can say is just be sensible I bet your insurance is a fortune though! only thing which would make it go up is a crash, doesn't seem like that will take long to achieve though!

This is the answer, Its just happened to someone i know 4 weeks ago, caught speeding 55 in a 30, went to court, giving £160 fine in total and six points, he thought he got away with it as he was not banned, two days later a letter came from dvla saying because he got 6 points within his first two years of having licence, his licence was being revoked from the following day. he had to reapply for his provisional which had the 6 points on he received at court, resit his theory test, then resit his driving test, he has now being back on the road 1 week. we also checked out the exact same thing as the op asked here which to that the reply is above.

Ps when he was caught speeding he was two months away from the 2 years and the only surprise to me was it took so long for him to be caught as he drove like a total tool. his 55 in a 30 sounds really bad but in his defence the road used to be a 50 limit that has being downgraded so he wasnt flying through a housing est or out like that.
