thanks guys... sounds like they will be wayyy to big then :p

Max's gt is underfuelling for sure . My mates got them carbs on his ABF, reckon 600's as said above should be good.

Hi , I had a mk2 that I built 1.3 gt on r1 carbs

It went about as well as a mk2 8v gti golf .

And did 280 miles to 45 quids worth of petrol if that helps at all

Yeah it was underfuelling, could see on his wideband. Needed to go up a couple jet sizes.

It was still almost a second quicker than the three 1.3 mk2's which were there, 2 of which were on cbr600 carbs and one on a webber

ZZR1200's

Overkill FTW

They were down as 600's when i bought them, only when i took them to the bike shop they told me 600's were a different shape and these were 1200's so he had to order other parts.

Tbh, I've had no issues and at 40odd mpg with 180jets i must have done something right.:lol::lol:

Peak power or drivability?

What do you want?

Nither just the NOISE!!!!!

I find that mounting plate both pikey and genius at the same time

Such effort haha

It's been covered so I'm not adding much here, can't be arsed to find a link in the FAQ, but basically the highest intake air speed needs to be in the carb's venturi, so that needs to be smaller than the inlet valve for maximum efficiency.

Efficiency = speed, response, economy, MoT pass..

600 cc jetted to 150 for a 1.3

What?!

The size of the ZXR400 carbs i have (Throat size) is perfect for the size of inlet valve, get the fuelling right and its spot on.

Mine was underfuelling when the carbs were standard, now the mains have gone from 0.95 to 1.45 and what at 3-7K rpm looks good. Needles still need tuning as do idle screws.

1200 carbs on a 1.3 must be no where near peak effieciency.

It was underfuelling on standard mains, as you'd expect. But after sorting that and the needles out its much quicker than any other 1.3 on 600s

Which carbs has he got an his ABF?

Max when I drove your car last, you could feel it coming on but the AFR literally mirrored the performance, setup well it'd be ace. As both you and I know, with 2-3 changes we made a lot of progress, they're fucking easy!

so say... if i got a hold of a set of CBR600 carbs? would make the mani, new pump, filters, and new jets, right?

Aye, as soon as the AFR moved away from 10:1 at what it picked up really well, getting to around 14:1, still a bit lean.

400cc carbs are certainly the way to go though, gonna try them on the AEE as it has a similar sized inlet valve.
