Fitted a Bmc a while ago to my 6n2 8v and I get a oily smell in the car when sitting at lights etc. the big pipe at th top left of the bay is now open, what do I need to do with it now my engine cover is off?

Could route it into the inner wing or something

You're supposed to put it in a catch tank to catch any oil spat out, then the outlet from the catch tank can go to atmosphere where it isn't gonna get into the cabin.

The engine bay theoretically is one such place, as it should be isolated from the heater intake, but it's never completely sealed. As Harris Racecar said, the inner wing is one suitable place. But into the throttle body ahead of the BMC is where it really ought to go.

Or fit the catch tank to catch all the crap then route the outlet a pipe from that out under the car.

As cheap and pikey as this sounds, a bit of washing machine hose (the flexy stuff), cut down the metal sheath down a little with a grinder.

Fits into the crankcase hole lovely, and if you run it neatly, the other end fits lovely into the towing eye point. Nice and deep like.

It isn't the crankcase breather its the other one, it just lets out vapour, but it stinks when idling. I think i might re-plumb it back into my throttle body
