The fact there's adjustment left on the actuator rod gives me ideas haha

Just leave it alone  , its a good car. I love driving my parent GTI, so quiet and comfy, just uses an insane amount of fuel to go anywhere,

Concentrate on the polo.

You wont get much better for the price you paid.

It's got a fucking arm rest. I feel about 60

yeahhhh averaged 60mpg to work and back, which is good considering am constantly on off throttle to avoid it going into limp home,,,,,

cant wait to drive the polo!

Mk4 golf = boregasm central.

The best way I found of avoiding the limp is very gradual pulsing of the throttle when going uphill etc

Coolant cap didn't work. Must be pressurising too much and throwing it out.

Unsure what to do,

Iv got a stat and Waterpump to fit...it's had HG done, not sure if head was checked/skimmed.

I can source another head easily dunno whether to rebuild that and just swap the lot in one go!

The one thing mk4 golfs excel at is boring the shit out of you

Have you done the general checks to test for head gasket failure? No point in doing it if it doesn't need doing

Well it runs fine and isn't mixing water or oil anywhere.

Ain't got any adapters for a leakdown test

Got 12 months MOT on it now.

Replaced the broken mirror glass as was annoying, gave it a wash and vac.

Changed the stat which also allowed me to check the Waterpump impeller due to its location.

Have flushed and refilled cooling system with appropriate mix.

New discs/pads done

New front springs done

Air filter done

Oil + filter done

Mirror done

Wheel alignment done

Need to sort this running issue, a bit tedious feathering the throttle all the while !

Just on 186000 miles now. Loving this car. Literally laid back easy life cruising around, spendin nearly half the amount in fuel I was and it's just so good to jump in and go places.

Might upgrade to a GT TDI mind :|

Did you sort the running issues/coolant loss?

Nah, if it's broken I have to drive it steady = savings, haha. Can't be bothered really! Saving ~£30 a week in fuel, it paid for itself ages ago :)
