As above you could fit hiss, but from experience the 6n2's lights are super glares with they.

Tbh the standard lights should put out plenty of light if they are working correctly. Firstly the lenses are most probably faded and no doubt the reflectors have flaked off leaving white spots, in which case I would advise replacing them as the output will still be sh't even with hid's. Secondly the connectors are prone to corroding, so pull them off and check if they are corroded then clean them up and put back, same with the bulb connectors. The earth pint are also likely to follow suit and are the main reason for dull lights so check and clean these. Then after all these fit some normal h7 bulbs, if they are not brighter then before then there is something wrong.

Personally before I think of fitting his I always get the lights working as they should, then this way you are sure that you need them and if you do then the difference will be a lot more obvious

Dipped beam _ h7 55w

Main beam_ h1 55w

Limelight _ w5w 501

You can run higher wattage bulbs, but I would recommend upgrading the wiring to get the best results

Sorry to take over the thread, I have the 6n2 GTI and I need to replace the bulbs.

Any recommendations on good bulbs (remember I'm xenon by stock) ?

Thanks.

So what exactly are you trying to replace?

If your xenon anyway then theres no choice of bulb there except another identical xenon one, but if yours are working there shouldn't be a need to replace them

side light with LED's and the main beam bulb with a Osram Nightbreaker or similar.

Ok Osram Nightbreaker but which connection should I get? H7?

GTI -

High Beam - H1

Headlight - D2S (i think)

Sidelight - 501

Fog - H7

Non-GTI

High Beam - H1

Headlight - H7

Sidelight - 501

Fog - H7

Yep the GTI uses either d2s or d2r, but most seller now stock a d2c which fits both. I would recommend changing them if they are a few years old as the light output drops quite a bit over time and the bulbs I use are only £7.99 a pair delivered and I have used at least 30 pairs of these on various cars. I get them off eBay just search d2c then what ever temp so 4300k etc, then sort by cheapest first. They do come from hong kong land so take at least a week.

Also nightbreakers are great but from experience they burn out quick ( but ironically just after the warranty from the seller runs out) in less you have beefed up wiring.
