About time I put a thread up for the daily...

After a string of turbo'd Saabs I wanted something RWD and slightly less practical. Took ages to decide on what I wanted, but then that's the fun bit in getting a new car anyway. Decided a Boxster S was a bit too hairdresser, Z4 discounted because aside from the Z4M they're not exactly rapid, TT because they're uber boring, which left the S2000 or a 350Z. As superb as the S2000 is, the lack of torque didn't quite do it for me, so I bought the Datsun.

The interior's typically Japanese (i.e. solid enough, but a bit plasticy and drab), but it drives nicely enough and has a nice stiff chassis. Gearbox and clutch are a bit agricultural, but with sensible footwear heel-toeing is easy. It's a similar weight to the last Saab though, so you need to be fairly committed to chuck it around. Brakes are awesome as you'd expect from fixed caliper 4-pots.

I'd hope so! Though the Datsun is RWD and has an LSD as stock - so it's 14s to 100mph and covers about 1/4 mile whilst doing so.

Now in winter mode, so the Rays have been swapped for some stock Nissan rims with M+S tyres on them. Looked at a few cars on the base spec Nissan rims before I bought this one, and they always looked cack, but I think the Azure blue just about makes it look okay - though I do prefer the Rays!

It doesn't look that bad on the stock rims to be fair. I white brand lettering on the tyres would look awesome on it.

Eric - deffo agree, the anthracite colour of the Rays really suits it. Couldn't be arsed painting these rims though, need to spend my time on the Polo rather than messing with the daily!

Does look nice on the Rays mate, even in the flesh stock rims do look gay but hey, they're purposeful :)

Wasn't much use for putting a wife and baby in, but no complaints otherwise. Was a waste just using it for the commute - though I'll still miss it.

Interior seems okay! Going to need to obtain winter rubber for it I think though, so if you know of any sources...

You can't get the Italian Racing Red on the deal now for some reason, can't be because it's too popular as I've hardly seen any. Needs the Black Pack to look decent on the SB too.

Ill do some searching, people got by ok in their 250's in this years snow on all seasons too, what tyres is it on at the moment?

And yeah black pack is smarter IMO
