who will insure my car after conversion?

Featured Replies

hi guys..

I'm finding it hard to find an insurance company who will insure me once iv done my engine conversion.

I have a 1.3 but will be putting a 1.4 16v with bike carbs - my current company refused to insure me and all comparision websites have come up with zero searches!!

can anyone suggest any companies that I could call and an indication of what u have done to your engine and an approx amount of how much u pay??

appreciate everyone's help!!

thanks.

We insure engine swapped cars in high volumes, feel free to give us a try.

Comparison sites aren't the best place to insure specialist vehicles!

sky

to name a couple, price comparison sites are useless for conversions

mr forum user from sky,

currently on a 10 month policy with admiral, and someone has recently told me i will not be able to use the no claims bonus on my next policy unless i stay with them.

is this true??

NCB can only be used if you run a 12 month policy in your own name, claim free for 1 year. A lot of insurers will indeed not accept the 10 month bonus.

We may be able to help though so feel free to get in touch, when getting quotes you do need to make the insurers know that it is from 10 month policy.

cheers ollie, unfortunately that means ill be trying to insure a 1.6 converted polo with 0 no claims, but 2 years driving experiance. do you think you would be competetive?

That wont be cheap surely Eric.

i know mate. already paying alot though haha

HIC were always good for me with conversions even when converting halfway through a policy, I heard they started being less competitive with their quotes tho but still worth a phone call imo

Yeah when i went to players i gave them some details and they sent me a fairly reasonable quote tbh!

Is 21 too young for a classic policy?

Hi

If you would like a quote from us, please feel free to PM me your contact details and I'll get someone to call you.

Thanks
