So after a year of reliable service, I have made the ludicrous decision to sell my wagon.

Let’s get the basic spec details out the way first off:

2000 Volkswagen Polo Variant Estate SE.

• 1.9 TDi (Non-PD) 90hp

• 85,500miles (will rise slightly)

• 12 Months MOT

• 6 Months Tax

• PAS

• ABS

• Leccy windows, mirrors and sunroof (all work faultlessy)

• Central locking

• Front fogs

Modifications wise it has:

• Ibiza Cupra Front Lip

• Lamin-X’d headlights and front fogs

• Tinted rear lights

• Pressed plates (Legal)

• Stubby aerial

• Polo 6N2 seats (much nicer than the stock ones)

• 110 Injectors

• PSI Tuning 2-piece shallow sump

• EGR-delete

• Raised front engine mount

• Updated black badges, central boot one is a huge Caddy item – very cool!

• Pioneer CD/USB Head Unit

• Rolled Arches front and back

• Raceland Coileys all-round

• Front aero wipers

And the main party piece… 16x8 Porsche D90’s with 195/40/16 T1R’s all round (all of which were brand new less than a year ago, so stacks of meat on them). 30mm FK ally adapters all round and further 15mm FK hub-centric spacers out back. It is VERY rare to find these wheels in 8’s all round, it’s hard enough finding a pair! I spent ages calculating and speccing adapters for these to get the offsets bang on. It really does sit lovely! It’d sit even nicer if it were about 10-15mm lower (which is easily doable on the coileys, all of which move freely) but as it’s supposed to have been my “practical” daily driver I pussied out! They only ever catch when there is 4 people in the car, or something particularly heavy in the boot, and that is only on the plastic arch liners which you could actually take out if it bothered you. The wheels themselves are a little bit kerbed in places, with some corrosion on the polished lip’s. There is also a scrape on the face of one of the fronts. So if you wanted show-car quality they would need to be re-furbed. But for a daily bus they polished up nice enough, never really bothered me. They also have a decent locking bolt on each corner so they don’t go walkies over-night.

The front lip is pretty low but aside from that it’s not too bad (I have driven, and ridden in some pretty low cars before). It sometimes catches the front subframe on really bad roads but it is honestly VERY rare. And with the 2-piece steel sump there’s not a lot to worry about. It can even tackle the vast majority of speed bumps with minimal fuss.

Maintenance wise it has loads of history with it. The cambelt was done in late 2010 @ 68,000 miles by a VW specialist garage. Big service last year including all filters and fluids (even including gearbox oil). And since then I’ve done 2 oil and filter changes, the latter of which was just last week! MOT has just been done and sailed through with absolutely no advisories. It's also just had a 4-wheel laser alignment done at Imperial Tyres, so it drives totally straight and true.

It drives faultlessy, starts first time every time, doesn’t smoke, and pulls nicely on boost. Gear change is slick and accurate, clutch operation is perfect. It really is a beaut, as you’d expect from a low milage TDi! I don’t think I’ve ever seen under 50mpg in it, with mixed driving around town. On a decent run it’ll return 65mpg!

The interior is a very nice place to be. It has the later-spec Lupo style dash with nice gauges and centre console. The seats are nice and comfy. The heaters are great. And it’s nice and quiet. The head unit is also a nice Pioneer item with loads of functions. The USB facility is brilliant, I have a teeny weeny 8GB stick packed with tunes which I’ve not taken out in months! In the last couple of weeks I’ve been to Derby and back (260miles) Heathrow and back (150miles) and Cardiff and back (170miles) which is testament to just how well this thing can munch the miles. I even worked a nightshift after the Derby trip!

It can also make decent progress when needed, and pulls really nicely on boost. The 110-spec injectors help things along, and with a remap you would see 130-140bhp and buckets of torque. I kept meaning to sort this out but never did! Even now it’ll sit at 80/90mph on the motorway easy peasy, and acceleration is more than adequate.

It even handles well! You’d never know it was an estate with the driving experience. The lows and the sticky tyres really help it stick to the road and you can find yourself taking corners much faster than you’d think, without even realising it!

So, onto the bad points, every car has them but fortunately they are few and far between with this one. The onside mirror has a crack in the casing, but the mirror still functions perfectly, it is entirely cosmetic, and not really all the noticeable unless you know it’s there. There is a small amount of rust on the passenger side upper-sill under the door, but this would be easy peasy to flatten down and re-paint. And there is a dent on the offside rear pillar which was apparently done by a careless binman! The paint is not cracked, and it isn’t creased, so it’d pop out easy via your PDR man of choice (Dingmaster for example). And one of the front foglights is cracked, but again it still works fine. These are all things I’ve been meaning to sort but haven’t got around to!

Aside from that the bodywork is pretty clean and straight. A few little dings and scratches here and there, but for a 12 year old car I’d say it was very good. It polishes up a treat! The interior is clean also, me and the previous owner were both non-smokers, and it has a lovely berry cherry air freshener in it at the moment! The boot is massive, and with the rear seats down you are greeted with a humongous load space. In it I’ve carried bumpers, 4 over-fenders, two sets of wheels, an MX5 engine and gearbox, a complete front subframe, and I even slept in it at Edition38 this year!

Anyway I have rambled on for long enough I think, if you need any more information whatsoever just drop me a message on here, or a text or phonecall (I can’t promise to answer a call as I work ridiculous shift patterns, but if you leave a voicemail I will call you back asap).

So, in summary, it is a super-reliable, super-practical, clean and tidy bus, which would make someone an absolutely perfect daily. It handles well, pulls well, and looks amazing on the porker wheels. I have driven it for a year and it has wanted for absolutely nothing, and it’ll be reliable for many, many years to come.

I am a full-blown idiot for selling it and I WILL regret it. But I have just brought a 306 GTi-6, which is a car I’ve always wanted to own, and I simply have no need for 3 cars (I also have the Mazda in my sig if you didn’t already know) so it has to go.

I would like £2000 as it stands, and no offers on that price at the moment please. It really is worth every single penny. By all means come and see it, take it out, poke about, and ask me questions. Like I said earlier if you require any more info whatsoever please just ask!

I have included lots of nice big and clear photo's below, which hopefully give you as good an idea of the car as possible without seeing it in the metal yourself (which I would highly recommend by the way). I have nothing to hide, and have been as honest as possible. It really is a cracking little car!

I can be contacted via here, or e-mail on godders86@hotmail.com, or through text/phone on 07921160094.

The car is located in Swindon, SN2.

Come and buy it! :D

A couple of people have been asking for an engine bay shot, and about the service history, so here you go!

8164244960_0a11410f7f_o.jpg

All reasonably clean, no fluid leaks whatsoever, you can see the EGR delete on the top left, decent battery, everything where it should be... all good!

8164245158_76bc190959_o.jpg

Every single MOT certificate since new, receipt for cambelt in 2010, receipt's for various parts and services, receipt for new windscreen in 2011, print out for the laser alignment with lots of green numbers... you know the drill!

So... who wants it!? :D
