Hi got a problem with my 1.4 8v 6n 60mph 5th gear and car lost power and was bogging down foot flat to floor after a wile it cleared. does any one know what could cause this ?

Without more details, all that we can do is guess.

It would be better if you could tell us if the engine was hot or cold, if it is due for a service, if you have done any work on the car recently, were you driving at a sustained speed, did it misfire, and even if you had just filled it with petrol.

The more information you can supply, the more accurate your answer is likely to be.

well ok had just joined dual caridgeway and was getting up to speed when it started to bog down run lumpy and lose power. engine was hot. car is not due for a service yet and no work has been done on the car recently. and fuel has been in the car for the past 3 days running about half tank of fuel

If it was raining at the time, you may have had some water on the ignition which later dried off.

Another thought is that the petrol filter may be ready for changing. (It's difficult to put a mileage on these things, as it much depends on how clean the tanks are where you buy your petrol from and/or if there is any contamination in the vehicle tank)

If the fault does not recur, it is likely that it was damp on the ignition.

If it continues to happen, it is possible that the Hall sender unit is on its last legs.
