stolen scirocco

Featured Replies

Hi all. Woke up this morning to find that my mk2 scirocco had been stolen. It's reg is e230 uns, it's red with gold bbs alloys and was taken from halfway, Sheffield. It should be localish as it had virtually no petrol in and there are no near 24 hour garages. if anyone sees anything it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for all your support guys. and its great news, drove the car back from the compound this afternoon. turns out the coppers had my car since yesterday morning but didnt think to tell me, useless. anyway damaged ignition barell and stolen cd player and thats about it, suppose I've been lucky. the £150 holding costs to get the car back has been by far the biggest expense though!

It's always brilliant when the police recover your stolen car and then charge you to reclaim your property! Glad you got it back, it's a lovely rocco (:

I think this storage charge has come up before on here? and I think in the end it was refunded, it was part of the police's duty to ensure safe keeping of the vehicle as it was the evidence of a crime.

Anyway glad you have it returned, all be it with some damage, but it could of been a lot worse.

Seems a bit daft to have to pay. I mean you didn't want it to be stolen, you pay for the police in taxes anyway. So why should you have to pay to get your car back when all they are doing is there job. Its not like people get locked up for the night and have to pay as if it were a hotel.

glad you got your car back. thats shocking having to pay to get the car back, its your property! that would be like someone stealing your tv and them charging you to get it back. its just like them stealing themselves.

its not the police you pay, the collection and storage of cars is generally out sourced. still a load of bollocks that you have to pay for your own shit back

glad its safe tho

That's true, the police have a list of around 10 third-party recovery firms who take it in turns to fetch a stolen vehicle.

If you manage to get a local recovery firm then you're supposed to be quite lucky cause they can be based miles away

Glad you got car back though, £150 seems a lot better than having to go out and buy another car, pain in the arse though if i'm being honest.

Great news at least it ended with a happy outcome :-D
