My Names Michael ! first vw - been on the ford scene for a while but decided to try something different.

New to the site, thought id put up a thread of "progress" even though it will be slow.

i dont have many plans other than new coilovers and wheels, a couple of touches to make it my own and a general tidy up :)

Second cup holder instead of cointray

fogs and gti front grill

g60 steelies for the winter

new coilovers

new rear arb

some polybushes (the arb bushes at the front are really worn)

pretty much it i think... just wanna keep it nice and tidy. Oh and its having a service saturday

Looks tidy :) nice base to start with :) get a gti spoiler, splitter and grill for it .

dont dare bother with the front splitter yet as getting into my drive is murder already!

the exhaust was round when i bought it, now it has an awesome flat style bottom

anyone know what sort of power these actually give out - pretty sure its had work done because it feels a lot quicker than a standard 16v 1.4!

book figure for the engine code says 75bhp?

but its NOT that, its a lot quicker, having owned other cars with bigger better and faster engines i can compare it to, its like a little rocket :)

bought a few things for it now;

fully serviced it - it has a misfire though and is down on power :( its been mapped in the past but is running really weak :(

Saturday i embarked on what was originally meant to be a nice easy drive to ripley in derbyshire to autotech with some folks from clio197.net and twingo133.net to attend a rolling road!

it turned out to be one of the funniest days I've had in a long time - great bunch lots of banter and managed to get there and back in the polo without incident roughly 260 miles round trip so pretty happy all round!

the day is set to be featured in pfc (obviously i wont be in it) but people were having cars and there owners pictures taken and i though id join in with mine.

the joke of the day was it took a group of 18 of us to guide it on with it being so low - it was fucking hilarious and they were all shock when my exhaust scrapped and i just said "fuck it, crack on" hahaha.

ill get the graph uplater, made 80.8bhp 110lbft @ 100mph.

nice and smooth so it has hbeen mapped in its life but should be running more :( its running very weak and has a slight misfire (whichi knew) so will be concentrating on getting it upto about 90-100 after xmas.

getting the wheels refurbed in the new year too, will be the same colour as I've grown acustomed to it! but the dish needs sorting as its filthy!

thought id update this, not much to update though, got some gti parts to fit and such

can anyone help me with the electrics? my windows have stoped working properly unless i really squeeze the switch?

and my reverse light isnt working?! i need to know where the reverse light switch is on the gearbox?

AND my fan no longer kicks in but the fuse is fine? could that be down to the stat?
