So my newly purchased 9n tdi has just starting this loud solid banging noise coming from the front left suspension when going over smallish bumps.

Its on bagyard supreme air suspension and kmac adjustable top mounts. I'm sure the air suspension shouldn't affect it as it all mounts up the same.

The same side has started to creak at low speeds or stopped and turning.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Creaking is probably down to worn rear wishbone (console) bushes. Mine does it too, and I know they need replacing

Because there like honeycombed , I poped some cupra solid ones in when i changed mine.... it was a bitch to do

*Polybush/ibiza cupra wishbone bushes

*Polybush dog mount bush

Recently replaced both driveshafts & wishbone ball joints.

All this was done this year. How quickly can any of these wear? The car is runnng around 210bhp and 400nm torque so I guess they would wear quicker than if it was the standard engine. Going to get it to a friends garage at the weekend hopefully and have a good prod around.

Just re-read your top post , didnt realise it was air + adj mounts (Very nice)

My old 6n developed a funny noise

Forgot if it was front or rear as the shocks where on and off all the time , the topmount was kinda loose so it rattled up and down with travel, speed bumps got like a body thud , and driving along like a clang

i have powerflex front rear console bushes and there pretty good been on a year and 20,000 miles and not a squeek from them. You may want to change your arb bushes too are there pretty awful on 9n's.

Thanks for the advice, i will get it over a friends pit Saturday and give it all a good going over. I sounds to me like a loose top mount but a friend has heard it and thinks its coming from somewhere else.
