New car suggestions

Featured Replies

Alright fellas, I think it's about time to upgrade, had the mk4 polo for 6 years now

Requirements:

Moderately quick, sub 10s 0-60

40+ mpg preferable

Reasonable insurance

06 plate onwards

Been looking at the following:

Peugeot 207 GTI THP 175

Seat Leon FR 150 (mk1)

BMW 118d ES

Golf GT (mk5)

Any further suggestions?

Feedback appreciated, thanks.

320d,55plate onwards (Msport engineed, without the cost) with a base remap to 210bhp. 50mpg, RWD and loads or pulling power.

Might be a bit out of his budget?

If I could get that for 7k I would but yea out of his budget

It's also not a patch on the cars he's looking at for speed.

Great engine, though, the 1.2 TSI. I've got an Ibiza with the same engine, it's surprisingly good fun to drive.

But it's MEGA money (£2k off a Clio RS!!!), and it's no Golf GTI!

Have a look at comparable a3's. They can be cheaper than the golf.

This is true. You can get the Golf GTI engine in an A3, for less than a Golf GTI.

Thanks for the all the imput guys, Alex, I'll look at the 197, never considered that, good looking car ! Also intrigued by the 330d as Darcy said. Soo much choice though. Also the a3 is a good shout. I'll do some more browsing

197 is looking very promising, looks like I can get a nice one for about 5k! Anyone know what they are like interns of reliability? Common faults etc?

I was under the impression they didn't feel very quick but handled amazingly. They look quite boring though unless you get it in liquid yellow!
