Sooo... 12am to 12:45 am we had a car ticking over in the carpark ... I was putting the light on and glaring at him but they still continues, (was not in the mood to argue)

I expect it has a straight exhaust with no cat, it rumbles though my house.

Last night this Toyota thing pulls in , Dumps the clutch and hits the gas a few times to rev (we were sat out in the car park as a mate just took me out in his 20v)

Pulled in earlier with endless revving

As he got in his car to leave he revved it up loud 3 times fo no reason and then left...

Sooo... this got me thinking , this thing has an intercooler as tall as my radiator

I also couldn’t see a bumper on this car so hes either hacked it apart or has no radiator which i thinks is a danger?

It had flippy up headlights so I'm assuming its an old Toyota celica or something the cooler went from like headlight level all the way to the floor with nothing covering it up.

Annywho , What can you do about loud exhauts at silly hours?

I dont really want to be calling 101 and being an ass but i feel like I'm going to have too.

My little girl is up early and I'm normaly working lates so i kinda need my sleep and....

Nothing worse then when i had to bypass my heater matrix , Leaving the engine running to warm up scraping thick ice on the front , scraping the inside. getting in. driving to the end of the close , getting back out and clear it again after it refreezes....

heared him come and go today over my music , was laying flooring down in the hallway so had it up a decent ammount , not too loud that i couldnt hear my little girl. All you hear is .... My neighbours complained about my old white polo's loud exhaust. Nothing i could do. Had to be up at 5 to leave, and there was no way i'd be driving off without warming the engine a bit. I haven't complained about there kids stomping and screaming round the house at 6 on a sunday morning.... I have a quiet standard exhaust on my current one.

I agree revving un neccesarily is annoying, but there really isnt alot you can do about it apart from report to the police, who wont even bother. I told the police several times about the scrambler bikes with no exhaust, tax, insurance, being ridden with no helmets and making a huge noise. Nothing was done.

Unfortunately, any noise nuisance is down to the council, who will log it, then send someone round with a db meter, which obviously doesn't help when it's someone in a car who isn't always there.

Other than that, get some mates round, then go and have a word with the annoying twats :grin:

I was going to a rolling road on Saturday morning (leaving at like 6 in the morning) my exhaust isn't loud at all but with my car being diesel it can be a bit louder than a petrol when cranking, so I rolled off the drive and down my road, until I was going fast enough to bump it, just to avoid cranking it. I'm nice to my neighbours.

I wouldnt do that if i had a G40 with a lysholm charger . You have to start your car. Its as simple as that. 6 isnt that early anyway.

if its on the public highway the police will get involved especially if you have evidence, it will usually be dealt with by a chat with the driver or a section 59.

any vigilante action will be frowned upon by the law, even if they deserve it.

It is on a Saturday morning when the neighbours have young kids, and you live on a cul-de-sac. It also doesn't help that my car is on a driveway between 2 houses so amplifies the noise

The bike carbs are only noisy when gassing it, but otherwise quiet. Exhaust noise is just shit. Especially when it's resonating in a tubular stainless subwoofer ten sizes too big for any power gain..

My car isnt noisy just raspy.. and that only comes into effect about 3k .

Only time i do feel bad is when i start car up and leave it on choke a min to warm up .. But i leave for work at 8 so its not stupid oclock XD

diesel with a 3" turbo back straight through pipe for the win, through the week i'd leave for work at about 7am, but on Saturdays it would be 5.45am. the thought of me fucking up my neighbours sleep made me feel a little better about having to get up so early on cold dark winter mornings

Normally not so bad , Still wakes me up when hes idling as its just so loud - I don’t think it has any silencers what so ever plus we're next to the car park the house just rattles

Again it doesn’t help he winds the clock round to the limiter a few times every time he pulls in with a pop and bang.. luckily he hasn’t been here in the last 2 days…. There’s been a pug with a loud arse cannon but nothing that keeps us up
