so decided wanted to put my afh engine into a arosa .. got engine out both cars then put the engine into the arosa .. to find the emobalisers are diffrent ..as its new shape loom so i then cut wires and joined them all together to notice there was a red wire on the arosa .. and on polo there is not .. what a waste of a day !!!

tbh mate yea thought of that but can not be arsed so be putting them back in normal cars tomorrow and do it a nother day when got time lol

red on the later immobiliser is a live. i did it the other way round and put a late immob in a early loom, i just wired in a live from the ignition. have you tried it without the live to see if it works?

one of the wires on the early immob is a switched live, its the black one in this picture

have you got that going to a live?

for me to have the 16 running i would need the old type shown in the pic you posted ... to run engine as i have key and so on that run it .. so how would i wire that into the car as in the arosa there is a red wire ? i thought the it would be live the red so i connected that to a live on the other car and it still started then cut out .. so would i need to connect black to live to ? other words .. what i need to do to get the type shown in pic to run in the arosa witch has new plug end ? got me thinking might be easy to do ... i was just fed up before . lol

hard to work out ... as on the arosa there is the wires shown in pic above .. and a red ... so if I'm to put the one in from the pic above how do i do that so car runs ? ... as there would be a red wire no longer connected ? .... also how would i then put the one from arosa into the polo ? thanks ..

black is live, brown is earth, solid grey is the signal to the ecu iirc, grey/white is the vag com wiring iirc. those two may be the wrong way round but i don't think they are

edit, you could try running the red to the black wire on your immob. the red wire in the car should be live with the ignition on, you don't need to run that to a live

i can tell you how to wire the other one in tomorrow but off to bed now

well i am going back to garage at 9 in morn if dont work out how its done will be changing engine back over as need car and did not think tbh they would be any diff lol .. learn from mistakes though :) ... if you could post it back on here what i do for what car to make both work be much appreciated .. thanks for help upto now thought :)

The above should get the arosa running, really all you need from the cars wiring to the immob is the signal wire to the ecu, the rest can be just wired to earth/live and don't bother with the vag com. Thats is if you just wanted to get the wiring as basic as possible just to get it running. it just means that the only wire you would have to find from the wires that used to go to the immob would be the Sig wire, once you have that sorted and the car running, you could wire the rest in properly one wire at a time so that if there are any issues you know which wire is playing up and can work around it

on mine its not gray and white its yellow and white ... also all them match other then the red ? so if i put the red to the black and try that if still nothing try red and black together may work .. could do with knowing witch is the one for running i had it where would start then cut out today that's it that normal means that its not picking up a signal i thought ? if I'm right then its just one wire is wrong way even if the colors do not match is that what your saying ? thanks a lot for help thought bud :) much appreciated

ok so i know sound dumb but want to be sure getting this right .. so i put live to black .. then earth to brown .. after i have done that try one of the wires left one at a time till it runs ? and if still no joy try again but been other way around wether it yellow to gray or w.e it may be then when it runs i know that its right and then connect the rest .long as i have a live and ground the rest should fall into place is what your saying ?

non atol ... we went to change engine loom then i noticed that the imobalisrt part of loom is in side the car witch is a hell of a lot of work .. what els could i do .. we put a proper 1.4 8v ecu and imobaliser on and key and so on and it did not make any odds and that was to one that was wired in properly to origanul wires ? both cars did run . all we have done is put the 8v engine from arosa into the polo and the polo 16v engine in arosa .. the polo ran yday with my 16v ecu and shit on but today it wont .. starts then cuts out .. same with proper ecu and so on to ? any idea on what could be
