any one have any idea on how to wire in a immobilizer in .. i need to wire in one from a early type to a new type loom .. and then one from new to old .. as i have put a afh into a arosa . and the arosa engine into the polo .. and use a different ecu and so on .. any help or ideas on what best and easy way to do this ? thanks

Could it be that the wiring in the ecu plug isn't exactly the same?

Also do the arosa's not use a crank position sensor and coil pack rather than a dizzy like the 6n? Although I'm guessing not if you have had it running

no the only diffence so far is the immobilizers different dur to different connectors on the wiring loom .. ones round and ones square also the arosa has an extra red wire.

also when i say no .. i mean i thought that there may be one or two pins that are not same so i went and got a ecu and so on that was for that loom aka vw polo and still no joy .. and not the engine as had running ish with 16v ecu and so on on other then was over fuleing and i need it for the arosa lol

I could understand that if it was "how do I bypass an immobiliser" but this is more of a technical question about how to wire in the standard vw immob. no info on this would help anyone wanting to bypass the immob, if I had that sort of info the last 3 conversions I've done would of been a lot easier

Thats why I've not locked it, more of a note that if it came down to binning the immob and bypassing it that it should be discussed by PM.

Thing is knowing how to wire it could still help in being able to by-pass it but it would take a pretty determined theif to do that.

I'm not wanting to steel a car I'm wanting my car to run .. i understand where your coming from all thought even thought been given help nothing has seemed to of worked so to steel a car would take a lot of wiring and undoing dash before moveing .. lol .. still have no running car and there only the one guy mclovin who seems to have a idea of what could be problem ... thanks for all help thought sure can work it out between us and fellow members :)

you are jeopardising the security of your car by asking pepole how to wire up your immobilizer lol

Why is he? What are they going to do with the info in this thread? The engine will not run without the immobiliser connected and functioning as it should. There is nothing what so ever in this thread that could jeopardise the security of his car

I've PM'd with the connections for the two types of immobillisers fitted

got your email thanks mate .. also no car still going to have one fitted so some one can try steel it all they like wont get far also fitted with tracker any way more fool them lol .. thanks for help guys il keep you all updated and see if gose to plan .. hope so :) thanks again

if it dose not work some guy has said plug the origanul box back in and so on for the arosa . and get vag com then re code it then set all values to 0 .. and then turn it over and then it sets its self up :S ? dident know you could do this or he talking crap ? any one know anything about this idea ? kinda has to work now as sold polo today so only have arosa now lol

Fair play mate, how did you sort it in the end?

yellow and white is for ecu .. brown is ground . black is live so the red on new one is the live for it then the black is ignition lights and shit like that on new one .. all done now thought :) thanks again guys ..

Black is ignition ON supply, Red is a constant live supply & Grey/White is the diagnostic to pin 7 of the 16 pin obd socket

Early immobilisers pre 97

pin 1 12v ignition supply BLACK wire

pin 2 ECU WHITE/YELLOW wire

pin 3 Diagnostics GREY/WHITE wire

pin 4 not connected

pin 5 not connected

pin 6 Ground BROWN wire

Post 97

pin 1 12v Live supply RED wire

pin 2 12v Ignition supply BLACK wire

pin 3 Start inhibit relay (Auto box only??) RED/BLACK wire

pin 4 Ground BROWN wire

pin 5 Ground BROWN wire

pin 6 not connected

pin 7 ECU WHITE/YELLOW wire

pin 8 Diagnostics GREY/WHITE wire

well i have red to black then yellow and white to yellow and white and then brown plugged in and it runs have not got the vag com connected cut my hands to bits in small place had to work doing the other wires lol ... but thanks for all your help wouldent of cracked it with out you all :)
