ADAMS BLACK 6N2 GTI

Featured Replies

Been stalking this forum for a couple of months whilst looking for a polo.

Finally sold my first VW, and got myself a 6n2 gti.

Great condition and great price.

Got a bit of a crappy gearbox so I've gotta sort that out, but worth it considering

the state of all the others I viewed!

Got a few plans in mind, obviously needs lowering, gonna de wiper and remove badges on the rear

and find some nice leather, maybe porsche.

Then gonna find some wheels, think I'm going to take my time and wait for something really nice to come up.

Ill get some pictures up tomorrow cos its too dark now, but until then this is my first VW project that I've just sold.

I've taken off the rear wiper and badges as I had a bit of spare time today.

Gonna order coilovers, and maybe a steering wheel later on today.

I also want some pressed plates, where is the best place to get them?

Need some new brakes too, what would be a good up grade? something i can get from euro car parts cos ill get a fair discount.

i got my plates from DubMeister, but bearing in mind i got them from their club stand at GTi international

Been a busy week for me and the polo. Had a drive down to Regal in Southampton to order some pressed plates, which should arrive in the week sometime. Will be nice cos my front plate is grubby as.

Managed to get hold of some original Gti leather including door cards, in good condition. Took a trip out to collect it and swap my interior over with the leathers old owner, fitted it all and drove away pretty chuffed...... untill the gearbox completely went. Just about managed to get it back home, but I cant drive the car till I get a recon. Booked in for Monday so shouldnt be off the road long. I knew the gearbox was a bit crap, I just hoped it might last longer than 6 days, especially as I was away with work for 3 of them haha.

So with the car back to my place and going nowhere fast I had some time to fit my coilovers and brakes. couldnt change the rear discs and pads because I didnt have to tool to compress the caliper.

Got the coilovers on. Must have got something wrong somewhere around the top mounting on the rears as they still push up into the boot about 5 or 10mm. Probably just got the spacers in the wrong place somehow. No instructions means trial and error I guess. Sort this out tomorrow and do the rear brakes. But this is how shes looking at the moment....

Thanks, got them from regal autosports in Southampton. Think such a small mod makes the car look far more classy.

the car alone was 1850, but had a dodgy gearbox, had to have it replaced as it fully broke after 3 days haha. but that was taken into consideration in the price. then spent a bit more on the mods.

theres a few more minor things that need doing, but I'm super happy with the car!

haven't added to this in ages! been working too hard. Got myself a double din dvd player and an amp and sub a while back

Picture2_zps003b0651.png

Then I got myself some mk5 Golf GTI seats. still need to get them welded up and fitted, but should look awesome.

Then my dad bought a mk6 Golf GTI and made me jealous.

Just a photo after a quick wash.

Then I went and got some air suspension. Airlift V2 management and HPS struts. Still got lots to do to, gotta work a few bits out with front top mounts and maybe some custom strut work to get it sitting proper. I just dont ever have enough time!

i might consider selling them when I get the mk5 seats in, but I doubt you would want them. They are a little tatty and the passenger side has a tear in.
