well, just thought ide get a thread started as I've had this car for about half a year now but only just joined club polo. so here we go, started as a silver fairly standard polo coupe (well when i say silver, it was a bit multi-coloured, had sanded back bits, some rust and a weird blue but on the back panel) but anyway, i started by painting it matte black

ohhh my god! lol

that is a surprise. interesting to see the blue stripe on the back had black outlines at one point, but the pink seat covers arent my cup of tea... :p interesting to see it when it was on the road.

I'm in dalry (st. johns town of dalry) near new galloway

and yea, it had a fox sticker on the side, but always comes up as a CL??

just found a good quality picture of it aswell back before it was painted, clearly showing the fox badge.

yea! I've got some of the original sevice history, belonged to a miss emma pollard lol and has slowly worked its way up the contry from there

I've got some clear indicators coming, just got em off a guy on ebay, waiting for the payment to go through though :(

got a few jobs done today, stereo and amp all wired back in and secured, new wiper blades turned up, so i got them fitted, and got the exhaust mounted on some proper rubber mounts instead of cable ties :p might get some pics up tomorrow.

just a quick update, got some more work done today, got the exhaust tightened and sealed properly, got the drivers side mirror off to see if its corrosion thats stopping it from adjusting. sanded off the air filter cover and repainted it. and gave the car a good clean :)

not had chance to get the WD40 to them yet, they dont look too corroded. but ill have to see if the WD40 free's them up. hopefully :)

got the mirror cables soaked in WD40, got the drivers side free but the passenger sides still being a pain. also got the clocks with the rev counter in and sorted. :) shes slowly getting there, noticed the brakes seem a bit errrmmm lumpy? if u get what i mean, but I'm hoping thats just due to lack of use?

got the clear indicators in although she is a bit dirty at the min :(

Clear indicators for the win. How easily did your amber indicators housings come out? Mine were a complete bastard to get out.

mine where too lol, had to almost lever them out

It's actually really good considering that it's a spray can job.

thanks guys! really nice to hear positive comments about the paint job, it doesnt look as good in the flesh as it does in pictures, really needs another coat, but it'll get there over time

and thanks for the mirror glass matt, got it in and the mirror back on. got it showing whats behind me... just lol

what i did last night painted the door handles, also painted the bumper so it matches the car a little better as i noticed in the pics it was coming up really grey. gotta do the rear bumper at some point

little update, ordered a new battery as mine is completely fooked, lasts about an hour from fully charged... so new one on its way, and new front discs as mine appear to be slightly warped. hoping for them to turn up tomorrow as i ordered them last week

got some tidying up done on the polo today, cleaned up the grill on the bonnet as the paint was flacking because i hadnt sanded it down properly first time :( and sorted the dent out on the bonnet.

quick update on life acctually... theory passed! and i now have a job! so I'm hoping the polo will be on the road soon

just a quick update on what i got upto today.... removed the filler from the boot lid where the badge goes and painted n refitted the badge. bodged the cables in the front seats so they pull forward when you pull the lever, and gave it a general clean pretty pleased with it :)

ohh and on a note that shows how sad my life is... I've finaly found a name for it, 'Basil' because its a polo fox...

quick update about getting this on the road, i have my driving test booked for the 7th of august, so if i pass i will be booking this in for its mot on the 15th of august when i get paid
