Hi, I'm not after a debate as to wether 165/55r14 will look shit. I'm just after a couple of photos to get an idea of the profile size, if anyone has any other suggestions on tyre size please let me know as I'm happy to listen. My mk3 coupe is lowered 60mm all round if that helps, Thanks folks

I often come up with good photos from google, search "165/55/14".

I'm thinking of running 165/55/13 on a 6j (on a mk3).

What width rim will you be running?

They are a nice low profile and on anything wider than a 5.5" steel they will look a bit stretched. I've had a few sets of these and they're fine but avoid the kumhos as they're terrible in the wet.

If you google 165/55/14 you get some pics of my saloon, it looks like my old image host has deleted the other pics I had but I probably still have them at home somewhere.

Ill be running them on 14x6j (mini g60s) I've had a quick look on google images but there all on wider wheels so i just thought id ask the question here :-) and you say avoid the kumhos gaz ? I guess there a pretty poor quality tyre in wet weather ?

I don't like Kuhmos, I spun a 306 with a pair on the back despite the fronts being proper cheap shite, it wasn't even tail happy it just went.

And that's coming from someone who gets on just fine with Nankangs..

Would you recommend nankangs ? I've seen bridgestone potenzas aswell and in the past for the extra cash you get what you pay for

I've had hankook ventus and federal formozas in the same size and other people have said avoid the federals and I haven't really given them the full gambit of tests that the kumhos had so I can't really say how good they are other than they were better than the kumho ecstas

Various wheels I've had with the kumhos hankooks and federals, in no particular order

kumhos on the front, hankooks on the rear

hankooks front, federals rear

kumhos all round from here on

I think the hankooks and federals have rim protection so they don't look as stretched.
