I've been thinking about this for a long time. my current stock exhaust although looks in good condition it did have a small leak on the last mot. so i think I'm gonna go fulproof and get a stainless exhaust. theres a few things to think about though. the stock system goes from turbo to cat, from cat to centre silience, from centre siliencer to rear box then comes out the back via 2 tail pipes. at the very least I'm thinking of going from cat to rear box and so getting rid of that centre box should not only decrease the overall weight but the turbo will benefit from this aswel. I'm just wondering, when you usualy switch over to an all stainless steel exhaust, do most people just have a straight pipe from the cat to back. or do you normal keep a rear box (muffler). i dont want something loud. a little roar is ok but I'm just not into that whole loudness thing.

about the cat, it is quite badly corroded and has had welding done on it which is still ok but i was thinking of ditching the cat. has mot changed so there must be a cat or 'visible ' cat. not worried about emissions since diesels just have a smoke test but by removing the cat I'm tihnking even better flow. anyone done this, or even had a fake cat. I've looked at uprated ones but i cant afford that.

by removing the centre box will that increase noise? and how do you counteract this. like i said, just want a little roar. interested in knowing what size pipes etc id be best off with. I'm thinking of getting a remap one day so thats something to bear in mind.
