Has anyone else been affected by the rain etc?

I'm currently in Plymouth and i was gonna go home to London tomorrow, but the trains get as far as Exeter then terminate :(

First great western i take it?

Our lines are so flooded that it could potentially ruin all of the axle boxes, aswell as get in the traction motors. Not good!

Theres 2 hst sets in our depo that have to have every axle inspected because of it lol

Farking windy here on the East Coast, but that's about the worst of it.

Bit shit round here, floods in roads and stuff. Plus golf broke so using polo, absolute effort might just stay home tomorrow!

Basement has some small puddles seeping in through the floor now. I suspect that it will be a centimetre or so deep tomorrow, that'll make working on my wheels a bit annoying. Still normal.

Seeing this street flooded right up to the shops is pretty normal here. It's been raining for about three days straight at this point and nothing unusual has happened yet. That street has just been closed but I don't think there is much water on it yet, probably just getting into the car park around about now.

well basicly thats a car park next to the river and the road leading to it is uphill so just from the hill lol?

that car park always floods cus its right next to the river, but thats the worst I've ever seen, and alot of the people from newton are saying the same.

In 17 years my driveway has never flooded, its been raining for about 2 hours now and it's flooded, got work at 6am aswell! Ahhh fun times!

That's the idiot owner not knowing their wading depth and thinking you can go through at speed I'll bet, not the capability of the car. There's a limit to even the most hardcore off roader. Something like an ML won't get you over the desert or over massive rocks but driven carefully it'll wade far further than a car.

Speaking of Mercs and SUVs, I've spent the last two weeks driving 4x4s. When the bad weather arrives, what am I driving? An SL Roadster.

But I've waded some deep floods in it, and not had problems. Only chickened out of one, in Longbridge. Drove up onto the grass central reservation and went off road to avoid the deepest bit. That flood had killed a Rover 25 and a Saab 9-5.

Why are we so shit at weather in the UK?!?

Its been bad here all day, wind has destroyed the shed and ripped a section of roof off the caravan i use for storage (the skylight is MIA).

weve had lightning strikes too.

Feel for the people on the A55. some sections are 9-10foot deep on it.

Is it really that bad Ceri? I'm meant to be picking up a car Saturday morning in Wrexham :(
