Can i swap headlights from mk2f to mk2 spotlights?

Featured Replies

I have a mk2f polo saloon and i don't like the square headlights. I was wondering f i could swap them for the round ones from the standard mk2s? Ideally i would like the ones with hella spotlights too, so there are four lights.

I've heard some horror stories about replacing the front wing, Which i obviously would not like to do.

So please tell me what i want to hear haha (:

Cheers, Jack.

No.

It involves a fuck load of work.

Seen it before and it looks terrible mate couldn't tell you how difficult it would be though I'm afraid

What these guys said. I've asked this question too...

To change the whole front end to a mk2 shape,

You need:

Quarter panels

Front valance

Bumper

Grill

Bonnet

Slam panel

But, I have always thought that you could keep the Mk2f indicators and just fire on the mk2 grill and headlights. The grill, being straight, wouldn't line up with the lines of the bonnet or the bumper, but if anyone has ever looked at a Mk1 Scirocco, that is the case on that car.

Find a hella/vortex grill if you want 4 lamps, but they will be square (Hella) or round (Vortex)

The facelift is longer, so if the paperwork behind was the same the grille/lights would sit inset. But the paperwork is all different, so you'd have to make up brackets to mount it all.

Even then it's all a different shape and profile.

go for it

Auto correct is shit at times

As said if you wanted it to look factory you would need to change the whole front end from a mk2f, but then you might as well just sell up and buy a facelift loon.

You could (as has been mentioned above) try offering up just the mk2f head lights and maybe look at modifying a facelift grill and keep the indicators in the bumper, kinda like a jetta/golf
