The newer one of the two looks sweet , what's happening with the other one ? Any updates ? Dave

Not many updates really I stopped posting in here as it had no interest, just bought the missus a 6n2 openair so everything's stopped for the moment.

I tried every local garage round my area, tried 7 and they all refused so I ended up getting some oldskool Dunlop guages and doing it myself

The only exciting thing that has happened really is that I have swapped parking spaces with a neighbour as this is the best one so I can live in peace knowing I won't get any parking dings etc like the other harlekin did from my neighbours :/

Properly chuffed about this space, also means I can work on it hidden in there without anybody knowing and complaining 😂

Stuck the other one in the garage ready to get it fixed properly, the list is getting bigger for it :/

New update!!

Finally got a chassis notch sorted,

painted the insides of the depo headlights and fitted

Got some red hella indicators and fitted yellow fogs and a gti splitter, lowered her some more

And the result, I'm in love with it now. Ended up winning top 10 best cars in the carpark at players 👌

Here's a couple of snaps of the update and my favourite snaps from players :)

cheers for the good feedback guys!! spending a bit of time tidying her up today, got beached on a long speedbump last night and i had to reverse back off, ripped 2 bumper mount bolts, snapped my lower grill, ripped the splitter off and snapped the mounts for the foglights :x its my own fault aha I'm going to expetiment playing with the lights a bit more also.

also i now have a 6n2 tdi donor engine dash and loom aswell so i plan on getting the gti'd one roadworthy again before i start doing the daily.

Looks amazing

Haven't been on here for a while as shit hit the fan split up with the ex took a turn for the worst ended up homeless then decided to take on a big project to take my mind off things and just go balls out, spent £1300 on wheels for a rebound and rented out a workshop and no regrets these next pictures can do the talking of why I feel like the happiest man on earth right now despite going through the worse thing that's ever happened to me that turned out to be the best thing I let go off. She should be back on the road next week.

she tried to destroy my polo and destroyed the roof which only started something amazing.

Safe to say I have learnt a lot from it,, all the work done all by myself including a fully working wire tuck which I am very proud off considering I didn't even know how to wire up a subwoofer

We were talking about this car yesterday when we went and got some quotes to get body work done.

Shame about the vandalism

At least you've got the right idea and built it better. Looks amazing! Loving the open air sunroof, looks like we're going to have a good summer as well so it should get plenty of use. Those clocks and air ride controls are spot on for the car :good:

Wish my dad would modify his harlequin but it's staying standard :-(

Come on then, what did you do to deserve the car damage

Holy shit thats gorgeous.

Cheers guys, ad I done nothing I'm a good boy, it's because I lied to her about what I paid for car parts my best mate thought it would be funny to tell her and boom 2 year relationship down the pan safe to say I'm loving life now

  • 4 months later...

Unique work , the car becomes very nice . May I ask where plastic thresholds find them ? I also restore harlequin and want such thresholds.

Glad my misses hasn't done something like that, she knows I spend a lot but I keep what I'm spending low key a bit haha

Anyways the roof looks abolutely spot on with that red fabric and a good idea to do that to also get rid of the dent problem lol I also love the centre console.

Shows what you can do when you put all your focus and attention to it. I think after seeing the damage most would have split or sold it
