Body Kits

Recommended Posts

prankstar2003

Come on then guys, show us your 90s styling. Got a real love for this now, the more extreme the better. Get your pictures up, whether its a simple set of Kamei Skirts or a full Dietrich kit, I want to see it. Even if it's not your's share the love. The Germans were awesome (awful?) at styling a while back, so I'm guessing there are some pretty rank photo's about.

Alternatively, show me some good examples. I'm thinking Kiz's home-brew styling and Leggy's Mk2 Coupe as two examples, so show them off aswell

Here's a wonderful example to get us started

I look forward to seeing it. Will you ever just drive it for a while? ha! BTW, how did you modify the original bumper, fiberglass or what?

How come? How would you modify a plastic bumper?

for a number of reasons:

fibreglass is not designed to be used on plastics, it doesn't stick, it doesn't flex making it prone to cracking/snapping, plastic and fibreglass expand/retract at different rates so in the summer you see outlines/ghost lines of where the fibreglass/plastic joins, fibreglass can sink leaving low spots

only way to modify bumpers is by plastic welding and thin skim of filler

i plastic welded the 2 together - then used proper plastic filler - not normal filler for the reasons felix has mensioned.

i will just drive it - just when I'm happy with it and I've never been happy with the front bumper which is why I've taken it off.

anymore bodykits??

I normally really dislike body kits on old polo's but that white polo at the top is awesome!! Don't think I could drive it though.

This thread has some awesome potential.

BB Polo - I want to know more about this car or the company but I never have been able to find out anything about them/it.

Should I post the Polo Sprint too? I wasn't build as a styling thing as such but it's different looking.

^^^^^^^ man speaks the truth i be doing custom body work for 9 years also made fiberglass molds for bumpers etc fiberglass and plastic doesn't bound but yes it some cases it will do the job but will only be a quick fix and not the best solution :-)

Couldn't agree more, you can't polish a turd and I'm afraid wacking excess plastic on a Breadvan won't help

(No offence)
