Well after much fiddling and patience i managed to get my team momo fitted using a trusty flatblade and some persuasion - a little food for thought for anybody thinking about doing this, it's alot easier to undo the 3 screws holding the plastic housing surrounding the ignition barrel/steering and take this surrounding off :)

Anyways...as it was late last night, I didnt bother with the horn etc.; going to give it a bash saturday when i have some daylight i think - few questions intially though so I know what i'm in for;

- i've lost self cancelling indicating, not a huge problem but would like to resolve it if possible? I didn't re-fit the plastic ring containing the copper circle but I just assumed this was for the horn? I'll be putting this back on saturday but is there any particular way it needs to go back on?

- the horn, i assume you come from the plastic ring (mentioned above) to the back of the horn, then from the earth terminal on the horn to the spade connection on the ring fitted between the boss and the wheel?

...and finally, the airbag light is still on even though i've put the resistor (i assume its the right one, however the guy i bought it from didn't have a 6n2), what size resistor should it be? currently stuck a 2 in there

I've got exactly the same problems! Haha.

Self-cancelling seems to work every so often though, so I don't know what's going on there - going to watch this incase you come up with a solution.

The horn, you're right about.

The airbag light was a pest. Read online that it need's a 3.3 ohm resistor but it's not that. If you've got Vag-com, you can scan for the airbag module and it'll tell you if the airbags are "correct" or "wrong". It's a measuring block, number 2, i think.

Was trial and error till it accepted a combination of resistors. Don't know what value i've got in there mind, just kept trying them till it said correct. I think it's higher than 3.3 though!

Any chance you can go measure the resistance on that resistor dude? Just stick a multimeter on it..would be handy to know! And yeh hopefully some people will post up...i think it's just to do with the alignment of the black disk...we'll see!

...had a thought at work today and took the multimeter off the van to check the resistance across the steering wheel pins to see if I could get a resistor to match, but it's not reading any resistance at all :/...

I have noticed that there is a space between the boss and where the original steering wheel met; am I right to assume that because of this space, I won't be able to re-fit the plastic ring with the wire on it for the horn? Short of making a spacer anyway...

did you manage to sort this? I've fitted mine today but haven't done the horn or airbag light. also lost the self canceling indicators. anyone lse got any ideas?

You put a multimeter across the terminals on the airbag ?
