Engine bay cleanup

More progress last night!!

Heaved the engine out. engine bay was FILTHY hah. So much oil and dirt from the old engine. Guessing it has never been out before.

started cleaning the bay, rewrapped the drivers side headlight loom and neatened it up, aswell as starting to sort out the fuel lines.

Will be wrapping and cleaning more tonight ready for the NZ

moar cleaningz

did some more on the bay this eve.

i decided that i couldnt be assed to tuck the fuel pump inside the wing, as if there was a problem i wouldnt spot it. plus I'm lazy.

as a result of the wing looking messier due to this, i managed to tuck the wiring loom up through the inside of the chassis leg!

I also cleaned up the rest of the passenger side, and gave both sides a quick coat of white spray.

i also wrapped the rest of the main loom, so its all looking lovely and neat :) got another lil bit to do but i can get to that with the engine in place.

hopefully engine in tomorrow?

I've been hunting for Mk2 gearbox mount pics for weeks.. so thank you :)

umm I'm not sure tbh, be alright its not THAT heavy lol. not bothered about performace much, if i was i wouldnt be fitting an NZ haha! just want a nice runaround that i dont have to fix every 5 mins, hence sorting the engine bay out while i was there :)

no probs anything else you need then holla!!

after a lot of swearing, pissing about with jacks and help from a good friend, the NZ is sitting in the bay!

for future reference mk2 golf owners, dont think your clever leaving the gearbox in. its effort. trust.

so yeah, looking alot better than before ATM! when its done it should look quite tidy!

i bought another set of CBR600 carbs to go on this, cba with r6's.

also bought a new oil filter, thermostat and alternator belt for it. came to like 8 quid haha.

engine is all in now. gonna put the frontend back on

well, got it all ready for MOT, started it up and guess what. carb #4 is blocked so not letting fuel through

ohhh yes. finally made it there.

passed, but i need to change 3 wheel bearings, fix up my handbrake, and get new front pads.

put my new set of CBR600s on and carb #4 is overflowing. dont think the float valve is seating properly.
