When I first got the car

I later put 16" wheel on (don't have a pic)

After putting the 16" wheels on and realising one was buckled, I bought a set of oz 35th anniversary 17" wheels and tyres for £150 also ordered coilovers which turned up the following day.

Coilovers in process of being fitted

How it was sitting afterwards

Got a nice set of golf mk 3 concept seats and also ordered a nice wee centre console/armrest.

Re-lined every thing in a cheap leather including sun visors. And painted grab handles black along with outer rim of interior light.

image-19.jpg

Seat belts from a 6n (wanted black adjuster things) had to change whole lot. Also a black rear view mirror from a 6n

image-18.jpg

Fancied a new gaitor as mine was a bit worn (blue stitching)

image-16.jpg

Had to get this as the car came with one that kept falling off when the heating was on.

image-17.jpg

Vinyl on rear vw badge (polo lettering removed)

image-20.jpg

Fitted rear gti spoiler, front splitter and angel eyes with a little vinyl to kind of blend the grills

Bought xxr 527s and test fitted. Soon to find arches needed flared.

image-9.jpg

Vinyl on door pillers.

Also got a stubby drivers side mirror which I got sprayed for £7 because the guy had paint left from spraying my spoiler.

I also have camber shims fitted to rear.

The car is in getting arches done just now, however photos will be added when it comes back.

Still to do:

New alarm

Wiper blades

Omp front upper and lower strut braces

Front camber bolts

New tyres

And plenty more lol

Not to sound rude but I really dislike the front end, personally think it would be better without the vinyl, but just my opinion

That's sound man, every one for there own. It's vinyl.

Good luck fitting the xxrs if you wanna go silly low. Mines on air, I still can't touch the rim on the rear and in comparison to you I have outrageous stretch. You're gonna need to cut off all upper bumper mounts in both arches, no arch liners, mega bumper trimming.

They're an arse to fit, trust me...

any better pics of the front end cause thats an idea i've been thinking about for a while

I've just got car back after arches being flared, the guy that flared them was old school with a hammer and dolly, however it still rubs on full lock against the sub frame. I currently have 195-50-15 tyres on just now and I've got 4 new 195-45-15 ready to go on. The guy that done my arches said it won't rub when I put new tyres on. So should be ok.

I'm just glad to get it back today was my first day driving it without an experienced driver sitting beside me and it was good lol. I also have rear camber shims fitted to draw the wheel away from the arch abit but will also get camber bolts for it some time soon.

Thanks.

Believe it or not but when I bought the vinyl for the door pillers it was one long strip and wasn't very wide, the front end actually has a join. I only decided to do it because I had plenty left and didn't want it going to waist. (Done my rear badge aswell) Plus I got the idea from new shape polo. As I've said just recently got the car back but will upload better pics when I can for you.

Really not a fan of the front end..looks likes your trying to pull of a mk5 r32 golf look and doesn't look right IMO sorry..would be much better with it off

As for the wheels..as said its really hard to get low on them due to their offsets. Get some lower profile tyres on them and they should look a lot better! :)

Hi Mate,

Like what you've done so far. :D

Have you also done the door seals in that material?

If so, what did you use to stick it? in the picture it does look to me like some sort of leather stuff on the side of the door seals not the pillar.

Also, What glue did you end up using for the side pillars?

Cheers,

Liam

It was just a cheap spray glue I used, got something like 10-12 cans for £20-£30, it's a fake leather I got off eBay for around £25. There is a few tears in the leather where the corners are because its not made to stretch. It's also holding in place because I've wedged it in behind the seals. Took a bit of time but I wanted my whole interior black, didn't like any grey parts showing. So grab handles were sprayed, along with sun visor clips and centre sun visor. surround of interior light also sprayed black. I could change the seat belt clips and couldn't spray them because through time the seat belt would rub off the paint. So front and rear seatbelts fitted from a 6n along with a 6n mirror.

Anyone got any black leather headrests? I'm wanting to fit the one in the rear bench again as had them with old cloth seats, cheers.

A little update. Alarm has been fitted, along with wiper blades.

Also this happened to one of my xxr's.

image-23.jpg

So decided to buy these.

image-24.jpg

image-25.jpg

After having a few people in the car and realising there was no rubbing when cornering or going over bumps, I decided to lower it at the rear by 20mm still no rubbing! So will need to sort the front out.

tbh lad i rathered the xxr's IMO i think that bbs are over played but then agan thats my opinion and its your car but it looks nice either way

The other wheels looked ok but these look much better 15x8 or 7.5?, with a bit more of a drop you're on to a winner in my eyes mate

Yeah there 15x8j. The xxr's were 15x8.25j and it used to rub like hell on arches when cornering or going over speed bumps. But these don't rub, even after lowering it an extra 20mm I've had 3 people (including myself) in the car and so far I've been over speed bumps at 30mph, still no rubbing. Gonna get an extra body in the car and see what happens and if it can go lower, then so be it!

Nice work, besides if it does rub, a lil stretch wouldn't hurt
