Stay safe this Christmas

Featured Replies

Just a word of warning people; remember about the increased chance of burgulary around xmas etc.

Keep your car keys by your bed or somewhere out of site, put laptops etc away.

Don't want to wake up in a morning finding possessions and cars missing

i got robbed at knife point on saturday morning on my way to work.

took my bag full of clothes to go to the christmas party that night and my wallet.

I've had looters hanging round my place cos the estate got flooded and nobodys living there, some people have no respect

Been so much of an increase in burgularys around here CID have been swooping on groups of youths and searching the fuck out of them. 3-4 unmarked popo cars ambushed a group outside my mums last night

Thieving little fuckwits need their fingers smashing up :disgust:

Theres been a huge increase in armed robberies in shops around chesterfield, most likely to do with them taking more money than usual with people starting to buy more for christmas,

I would like to see a burglar get through a 3 inch thick wooden door which swells up in winter (becomes very stiff) then another door with a huge pain of glass without being heard... Still don't keep my keys by the door though.

Had a call from my Aunty last weekend, some bloke walked straight into her house and demanded her keys and purse and knife point she shouted my uncle he came rushing down then chased the guy in his car for a good few miles before he lost him in traffic =/

So yeah i second what your saying Nicolas. Keep safe, even if your in keep the front door locked.

My dads left me and my mum now so gotta try to be safer too! Door and garage locked at all times.

hence the reason i keep my shot guns undermy bed with the box unlocked for quicker access.

Scumbags are too brave these days, dont care whos in the house etc but id like to see any little scrote with a kitchen knife demand my keys and wallet with my 12 guage pressed against his forehead!

stay safe guys! buy a gun!

or a cross bow! i wouldnt fuck with anyone pointing a cross bow at me!

i need a cross bow :/

Our local co-op had some lovely fellows in a mitsibushi L200 (think that's the 4x4 thing or is it warrior?!) try to quite literally pull the cash machine out of the wall... They managed to crack the wall abit, then from the pool of oil around the thing I can only imagine they blew it up revving the fuck out of it and ran away

If you shoot them in the face its self defence, if you shoot them in the back its murder. True story.

My compound and arrows are within easy reach if required.

what if you shoot them in the face first then once in the back just for good measure? :p

As if. I'm surprised defending yourself isn't illegal in this country.

I thought it was illegal! but never mind i would like to think i would try and scare them off if some one tried to get in but that might be just my imagination! lots of screwdrives etc in my draw :D

and yes i would love a cross bow!

thieving bastards need to be publicly hung or just be kicked to death.

I'm by myself but it still wouldnt be a clever idea for some knob to break in here. theres more weapons than a torture museum

all explained in a violence and aggression course we did.

If someone is coming at you with intent to harm you're allowed to take reasonable action to defend your self and flee.

But if you say give the attacker a kick to the nuts and flee its ok but if you stay there and carry on to beat seven shades of shit into them then you classed as the aggressor and thereby in the wrong.

Its covered in common law not criminal law. You have the right to defend yourself.

We are told a D-Cell Maglight is a self defence tool an oxygen cylinder is not.

Two foot 1/2" drive breaker bar gives you a bit more reach and power

"But we've got you on CCTV kicking him in the face while hes on the deck and he's not moving..."

"and?"

Isn't nice waking up walking downstairs and finding someone's been in!

Is that just England and Wales though?

If someone is running at you with intent to harm you have the right to kick them in the plums and run unless there wearing a guard or have no plums in which case a punch to the face will suffice its only to give you enough time to get away from your aggresors but as nick said keep your self and possessions safe as more and more people are getting desperate for money

I'm sure they changed the law recently regarding defending yourself.

I think it should be that if someone breaks into your home they are no longer allowed to bring charges against you for any harm that comes to them.

Another good deterrent for burglars is a dog that barks. My little terrier is a wimpy little sod but if there's someone he doesn't recognise in the garden at night, he barks like hell.

My wif'es recommendation is broken glass in concrete across the top of the wall. Even if it don't put them off you'll have DNA evidence.

This is good:

Q and A: Self defence and burglars

I quite like the bit about shotguns.

As for weaponry, my wifes choice:
